Windows, once again, has failed to start so I need to contact them. Does anyone know their contact information, and this is on a HP computer. Do I contact HP or Microsoft?

I flashed my motherboard to the updated version fix a problem but it made it worse and now it dosent detect slots A (0,1) of my motherboard. The old bios i written over is nowhere to be found because gateway dosent keep a copy of the old bios (those bastards), anywho, would a full system restore fix this cause im not sure simply because the when i disconnect the harddrive, the motherboard still has the bad bios(so im not sure if the bios would be affected by the restore) . Or rather does anyone know where if anywhere on my computer a copy of my bios could be in.

I Know that i can use Software virtualization(Microsoft Virtual PC,VMWare) I want to know more about how can i have more than one OS in one PC simultaneous. XP and Linux for example. I have an ASUS Motherboard and AMD 4200+ X2( is this CPU ok for Hardware virtualization?) Maximum points for most detallied answer.

Ok heres the deal my dads computer has been acting wierd lately but today it totally crashed. he wont ask ?s cuz hes stubborn so i am. excuse my spelling & grammer. K well he thinks his hard drive is goin out could this cause all of what im bout to say? well he has mcaffe loaded on his computer and its been sayin parts are missing or damaged so he reloaded it but it wont load all the way then it freezes and he has 2 turn the computer off his self. Plus it says he aint got a internet connection which we kno he does cuz we have dsl & we have that idk what its called but he has the main 1 in his office & i have one just plugged into my computer & my internet works perfectly. O yeah & it keeps sayin script error whatever the heck that means. Hes pretty smart with computers i just think hes 2 stressed 2 think. I kno thats not a lot of info but if you have suggestions what it could be and how 2 fix it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks SO much!!!

Hey alright I have a Dell Deminsion it is extremely messed up. . I want to completely restore it to factory settings if possible. I would like to reset the computer back to the settings it came with? Losing all of the files and downloads on the computer is not a problem. So if anyone thinks they can help me with this, please let me know thanks!

I am currently running an AMD socket 939 Athlon 64 3800 (1.8 Ghz) processor. I am wondering if it would be worth me spending the money to get a Dual core processor, such as the AMD Athlon X2 (somewhere around 2.2-2.4 Ghz). I use my computer for both gaming and other applications. I like to multitask and often have IE w/ 3-4 tabs, Itunes, and Word all open at the same time (or a similar combo). Will I get a significant performance upgrade by going dual core? Thanks.

It seems secure enough, I tugged at it to test it, recently though I found a crack in the outside of slot containing the lock,

Well, yes. I installed a game on my computer today and was confused to see that there was a new drive [H:] created automatically in this process ?

The H drive has also got the game's name and shows 52KB of memory without any disk in it !

This is wierd, isn't it ?

My GX150 has one 256 MB memory stick. If I add another 256 MB memory stick from a different brand/manufacturer, will the compter become slower or unstable than I replace two memory sticks of same brand/manufacturer?

Would this be a bad idea? to save my comp.?
I messed up my comp really bad with viruses and trojens and such. (i look at bad things when i get depressed) so i was thinking of buying a new HD and transfering all the things i want to it and then tossing out the old HD. would that work?

i am pretty sure my HD is far beyond saving.

the mother board, dvd drive and moden should be save still right?

my comp is 1.5 years old...bought it summer of 05

The fan would run on high speed sometimes when I would listen to music on Windows Media Player. But, now it runs on high speed most of the time. It is annoying and I am afraid something is wrong. What can I do?

Here recently my computer would just shut down on its own. So I done a system recovery and since then it wont dectect the modem so that I can get back online. Is there a way, step by step that I can get the computer to dectect the modem again? When I reinstall the aol software it say's that aol connectivity service has encountered a problem and then it will close. Then it will say that its not detecting my modem, when the day before it was working just fine.
What should I do to fix it, Its still in good shape and I dont wanna junk it. I have tried everything I can think of, if someone can help it would be greatly appreciated!!

I know it is better to build your own....which is great if you know how to. I know how to run a computer ....but have no idea about how to build one or do not know of anyone that dose. I have now a basic gateway computer. I am a Sims 2 game player and have all the expansion packs....but i can't play it like i want to. Just to have it on my computer...I can't have any other games downloaded or pictuers or a lot of music. I want a computer that i can play my sims and other games...also i am a big pogo player..(www.pogo.com) . I would love to have more music on my media player and able to have more pictures too. Please help anyone!!! Thank you.

Okay, the motherboard is a bit older but I'd like to conquor this prolem. The Amd 1200, memory, ATI graphics, Yamaha audio, 80 pin connector cables ... etc are all functioning properly, as best I can tell. There are only a few jumper possibilities on this board and I've replaced every one yet I cannot get it to fully boot. Usually within the first 1 to 2 minutes I get error messages of General Fault Protection, error code E-814, TRP- B15, TR-0028, IDT-LIMIT-07FF, GDT-LIMIT-03FF, 80 FLAGS 1086, NO CYNOZR, INTIS DOWN, TRAP 0000000 or simply a blue screem. No not a Blue Screen of Death ...just a nice blue screen. The correct response will be directly responsible for restoring a mans sanity and the winner of the "DINKY BUTTON." Can you tell I'm losin' it ? Power supply insufficient ? Corrupt Bios ? Faulty Install Disk ? Maybe I'm standing on the wrong side of the tower ....?On a second note...My Compaq iPaq decided to follow suit !
