Nothing beats a branded machine in terms of performance. After sales service for branded machines is good. Personally, I use a Lenovo and I'm very happy about the performance. HCL is not a great PC to start with and I've had problems with HCL PCs. After switching over to branded machine, I realized that HCL was a badly assembled machine.

It's better to adjudge the product rather than service. If you bergain for a cheap low grade product then it will require frequent servicing. Except Sahara/ Amchi P.C./ Zenith more or less all brands use a standard set of products. As far my experiences tell HCL is also a good choice. H.P. and Compaq has great designs and products but same can not be said about their service. Dell may be the best because they do not sell through any dealer/ franchisee, all over world they communicate through dedicated call centres which puts on pressure on their accountability, this type of corporate culture is not present in any other P.C. company.

Never go for a branded PC. You are stuck and you do not have the option of installing your own software without breaking the warranty contract. No branded computer manufacturers make their own components. They are assemblers and you pay the price for the brand. Better you study the guidelines given by computer magazines and buy the best motherboard / processor combination that suits your budget. The rest of the components can be any brand. The idea is, get branded components and get warranty of 3 years for all the parts instead of getting a branded computer with 1 year warranty.

HP is the best PC company in India which gives 3yrs complete hardware warrant and provide best service in one call if there is any trouble in PC because I have one HP PC
