Don't buy your computer online, they are always more expensive. If you bought all the pieces and put it together that would be different. I've always found bestbuy to have the cheapest, good quality computers. Circuit city has higher prices for pretty much the same thing.

Ebay probably would have some incredible deals but would you be willing to trust them? S/H is a big problem too.

a good place [ at a good time ] to buy a computer is at any number of retail stores in your area~in particular, those same stores that had advertising, and inserts in newspapers before the holiday season~you will find huge savings on computer systems in the weeks after the beginning of the new year~this is due to the overstock of computers that were marketed to consumers for holiday gifts~in my experience, stores such as Best Buy, Radio Shack, Walmart, etc... have discounted computers in the last weeks of january, and into february~another great source for computers at special clearance prices is Dell, and others, on their internet sites~some computers may be as much as 50% off in the first month or so of each new year~hope this helps!

Warning: you'll be spending a few hundred dollars more than you would for a Dell.
