According to the specs on newegg, that CPU supports virtualization. You'll have to enable it in your mobo's bios. Hardware virtualization doesn't work with graphics cards, though (yet- wait until PCI-E 2), so that will have to be emulated.

First of all... the chip set and AMD processor has nothing to do with dual boot systems. When you have two operating systems you have to configure dual boot. Since I have done this before I recommend you to load Linux first then install XP because it is easier to configure dual boot from Linux rather than from XP. These are the steps:
1.Backup all the data on your current system (if you going to install the system on the computer that you are using right now. Better to back-up than to be sorry!!!)
2.Install Linux and during the installation partition hard drive(HD) into two separate levels. OR If you have two hard drives one as a master and the other as a slave, install Linux in the master HD.
3.Then you restart your computer at the end of the installation and reboot it from the Win XP CD.
4.You install the Win XP in the blank partition space or in the second HD.
5.Then you restart your computer and it should automatically load from the Linux and go to setup.
6.Change the boot config from primary to dual. NOTE THAT YOU MIGHT HAVE TO CHANGE YOUR BIOS.

Please note: You cannot load Unix OS because it is totally different from XP and Linux. The video link might help you… but I don’t think it is the best resource…

No need for a million details. I have made dual boot drives since the 486 days, so sure you can on a fairly modern athlon. WinXP and Linux make great dual boot OS'. If you already have xp loaded, you can use an app called GRUB to create a dual boot with linux. There is a quite detailed site on this at http://www.geocities.com/epark/linux/grub-w2k-HOWTO.html
I hope this gets you on your way. Good luck.

You cannot run more than one OS at once without software virtualisation. However, the newest versions of VMWare or Virtual PC make use of the hardware virtualisation features newer CPUs offer.

Partition your Hard drive install Windows xp on one partition, and install Linux on the partition .. Now here is the catch, you will need to read up, and do some homework on how this is done. and the best place to do that is to get the best supported Linux version,

The best Linux and Linux support I have found is Suse Linux from Novell, you will get the install manual, and every other manual you will need, goto Cool Solutions and you will find how to install a dual boot system
