You most likely have a system problem, but it could be easy to fix. I have listed quite a few steps below for you to get it up and running again You may want print all this out as it is very much in depth.

How to clean up a computer and keep it running smooth and what you need to do.

Click on My Computer icon and locate your hard drive (Local Disc C or ?)

Right Click on the icon that represents your (Hard Drive). At the bottom of the drop down window Click on Properties.

Click on the tab (Disk Cleanup) and allow this to run the cycle.

Once complete Click on the tab above (Tools). Now click on the (Defragment Now) tab. Once again allow this to complete the cycle. Once done Click on the Tab (Check Now) tab. This will check for errors and repair them.

Now once again (Click on the My Computer Icon) and then (Right Click on the Hard Drive Icon). Now look for the file called (Programs File) and Left Click on it to open it up. Look for any programs that you do not have installed or may have deleated. These simply have been left behind and never un-installed. Deleate any you do not need.

Now you have gotten lots of junk off of your computer. Turn off your computer to end this cycle. Once your computer shuts down, restart it. (This step is very important as you do have to end the cycle).

You now will need to clean out your REG System. (You can not do this with out software). These files are tracks for all your activity you ever have done on your computer as well as installed and uninstalled programs and just lots of Junk Files as well as old shortcuts..

Click this link and downlosd http://www.ccleaner.com and install this program. It's FREE as well as safe. No Pop Ups or SpyWare as well as AdWare.

Run this program once installed and all the junk will be removed from your computer. Left over Short Cuts, left over deleated files etc.

Shut down your computer once again and restart it.

You now have a clean computer. Run the CCleaner once a week and keep your computer like new.

Here are a few useful add on software programs you might consider downloading if you do not allready have them. Please keep in mind that none of these programs come with SpyWare, AdWare or Pop Ups. They are all 100% FREE and extremly very useful.

(1) Windows Defender http://search.microsoft.com/results.aspx?mkt=en-US&setlang=en-US&q=windows+defender Windows Defender is a free program that helps you stay productive by protecting your computer against pop-ups, slow performance and security threats caused by spyware and other potentially unwanted software.

(2) CWShredder. http://www.download.com/3000-8022_4-10301587.html Eliminate an insidious pest that Spybot http://www.spywarebot.com/ and Ad-aware http://www.lavasoftusa.com/ can't stop.Even if your PC has Ad-aware and Spybot Search & Destroy, you still can't stop some versions of an insidious and virus-like pest called CoolWebSearch.

CWShredder finds and destroys traces of CoolWebSearch. CoolWebSearch is a name given to a wide range of different browser hijackers. Though the code is very different between variants, they are all used to redirect users to coolwebsearch.com and other sites affiliated with its operators.

The CoolWebSearch Trojan installs dozens of bookmarks, mostly to porn sites on your desktop; it also adds a toolbar to Internet Explorer and changes your home page without asking. Furthermore, it significantly slows down the performance of your PC, and introduces some modifications which cause Windows to freeze, crash or randomly reboot.

Now lets get your PC mor memory..

There is no set speed that your computer should be running at. What happens is your computer will never run as fast as it did when you first brought it home and hooked it up. We all add programs and install software, this is one reason that a computer gets slower and slower. Once we delete or uninstall a program as well there is always part of it left behind on our hard drive. There for you will need to do a total clean out and clean up to recover your lost speed.

Now before I get into the how 2's this program will help monitor your speed and clear the ram to boost the speed. You need FreeRam XP Pro. Read about it here as well as download it for FREE. http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file/fi... Guaranteed to help you.

And thenlast but also very important to keep your PC going now and later.

SpyWare Help:
We recommend two good freeware programs to prevent spyware from invading your PC..

One is WinPatrol. WinPatrol has a free version and a professional version (we liked the free version so well we bought the pro version). The free version is 100% functional, and will protect you from all sorts of nasties, including browser hijackers, homepage hijackers, as well as prevent Web sites from adding things to your "Favorites". You can get more information about WinPatrol from http://www.winpatrol.com/ . We highly recommend this program to everyone, whether or not they have a good arsenal of anti-spyware software installed.

The other program we recommend is called "Spyware Blaster". Its forte is protecting you from installing spyware in the first place. It's a proactive anti-spyware program as opposed to a reactive one that removes spyware after you've become infected with it. We also have Spyware Blaster installed on all of our computers and highly recommend it for everyone, regardless of other anti-spyware programs installed. You can read more about and/or download Spyware Blaster free by clicking here. http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html

We are concerned because spyware has reached pandemic proportions and it has now become a household word. This means that the most insidious of the spyware makers will need to be even more sneaky and more covert as they develop ways around the various anti-spyware programs now appearing all over the Internet. More stealthiness by spyware developers means you can expect to see more lies plastered all over their Web sites like "Our software contains no Spyware or Adware". Don't take their word for it. There are two things you can to protect yourself. If you see a Web site that you suspect is pandering spyware, don't believe their brash "No Spyware" statement. Read their entire privacy policy and End User License Agreement (EULA). If the EULA drones on for page after page, that should be a good indicator that they're trying to obfuscate something; steer clear. The other thing you can do is search the Internet for references to the program you question. A simple search term like "program name + spyware" should turn up results if the questionable program is spyware.

Finally, we strongly recommend SpySweeper. http://www.webroot.com/consumer/products/spysweeper/?acode=af1&rc=1220 It is not free, but it is the best. It now recognizes over 100,000 different spyware programs. There are just no free spyware programs that do nearly as good at finding and removing spyware as SpySweeper. If there were, we'd tell you about them. You can try SpySweeper for 30 days free. It's fully-functional and will remove what it finds even in its trial version. Click here for a free 30-day trial of SpySweeper. If you just cannot afford to buy a subscription to SpySweeper we do recommend you install Spybot Search & Destroy - available free from http://www.safer-networking.org/ . It's always best to have at least two anti-spyware programs standing guard. Anti-spyware has not yet reached a level of sophistication where one program is enough to recognize and remove every possible spyware program.

Good luck and hope this has helped you as well as others.

Hello

If the all the above doesn't work check the temperature of your processor if it is more than the normal temperature then you need a new heat sink that should solve the problems

to check the temperature the best way is let the system run as long as you can may be 15 or 20 min and then restart while booting enter into bios to see the temperature if you find it hard install a software you will get many online just do google compare the temperature with normal temperatures given by the manufacturer if it is high as i said buy a new heat sink that should solve

Good Luck

this is a hardware problem,it happened to me,check your ide cables that connect your hard drives and cd-roms to the motherboard, infact replace them, they are only £2-50 to buy
clean all system and c.p.u fans for dust and any muck, and clean the case for dust, any ventelation problems can cause c.p.u overheating and thus system crashes
some questions to ask yourself
1. does my mouse freeze...if so change the mouse from ps2 connection to u.s.b and visa versa
2. is your hard drive over noisy...if so it may be on the verge of a failure, replace if needed
3. like the other answer,do a virus and spyware check as per usual, tip:as the system is allways crashing try doing the scans in "safe mode",this will also better at finding infections
4. check your memory,a module could be defective and this causes crashes, also check they are seated correctly..best memory modules are made by kingston and corsair
5. if you suspect a program is cuasing the crashes, obviously remove them but do this again in safe mode
unfortunately, this is a problem were i would really have to be in front of your p.c so just give these tips a try and see how it goes, any other advice needed let me know
good luck

My laptop used to keep freezing with no warning messages. This was caused by a RAM malfunction. Maybe you need some more RAM in your comp. If it freezes without even loading up completely then it is probable that it is memory-related problem, as you dont get any error msgs when that happens, just freezing.

In some cases a hardware failure might generate OS error that prevent startup in which case restarting your pc in safe mode (F5 while startin up) then restarting it normally might fix it, if it doesn't try repairing windows installation.

If you are suspecting a virus you can start in safe mode and run a virus scan.

You have a virus. 'My computer' 'properties' 'system restore' and reset your clock to a day before the problem started. Use www.CCleaner.com to sort the problem.
