my computer was runing fine, for a while. i had no problems with it at all. i just recently got it back from my family and i noticed that when ever i try to play music or video's. it gets laggy and cuts off and werid noises come out of the speakers. and the video stops? i was wondering what could this be? at first i thought it was spyware adware etc. but i removed everything from my computer by re-formating it. i thought that would fix the problem but that was not so. but how ever i did notice when i would uninstall the graphics card. and use the mother board grpahics the computer would work just fine playing music and i could watch movies. but when i re-install it the graphics card it goes back to laging. could i please get help asap.
thank you

Lately, the following has been happening to my computer: it randomly freezes up for about 10 seconds and then allows me to continue (happens off and on while I'm using it), I hear a low buzzing/roar, and sometimes my computer won't shut down on it's own.

Not sure if these details are enough to say for sure, but anyone know if this might be a processor problem? It's a Dell desktop and is about 5 years old. The fans are clear of dust and appear to be working fine. Just wondering if I need to start thinking about getting a new one or whether this one can be salvaged.

I have this glorious steel file cabinet from the late 19th century, and it is the perfect size for my computer tower.

I have not moved it there, because I don't know if it would be safe to place a computer's hard drive onto something metal.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I had my computer for about a good three to four years now, and sometimes when i turn my pc on, a statment " cmos battery low " will pop up, and if i skip the settings, it will reset all my applications that i have on my pc.

About a week ago, i opened my pc to clean the dust inside and i bought a new cmos battery. I inserted the cmos battery thinking it was going to work, but it did not; it stated " cmos battery size wrong" when it's the right battery size. So I inserted the original one back into the motherboard, and i still keep getting the same statement " cmos battery size wrong.''

My questions are, could this be a sign of the motherboard going bad? Or could it be that the battery that i purchased was a bad battery?
