my drw on my sony vaio will not burn faster than 2x?

I tried everything I know, no matter what I do it will not burn dvds faster than 2x. Even if I put a 16x dvd in it still will not burn faster than 2x. What can I do?

i think you have to go out and program to upgrade it

get a new dvdR they'r eonly 40 bucks

Is it supposed to ?
Please provide model # of your Vaio. If under warranty just call support.
