1st you should check your mainboard/motherboard brand and modar or series then log on to the website of your manufacturer
like
as if you have intel motherboard you should go to www.intel.com
and there you can search what you want
they will show you the list of compatibal processors.

Go to control panel and double left click on system. It will tell you what cpu you have and it's speed
