You should use system restore command ( click "start" > "Accessories" > "System tools" > "System restore") to retore the computer to the date before you update to explorer 7.

I agree with Mr. Classic. I had very much the same problem when first installing Internet Explorer 7. A computer tech/friend of mine suggested doing the very same thing..go into control panel..add/remove programs..then find Internet Explorer 7. Remove it. Your system will go back to Internet Explorer 6. Apparently, Internet Explorer 7 is Beta. There were some bugs in it, but these seem to have been straightened out now.

There are the steps, follow the next if the problem is not solved by the first
1) run ccleaner (optional)

run the following two menus of ccleaner
cleaner > Analyze > Run Cleaner
Issues > Scan For Issues > Fix Selected Issues

2) Uninstall IE7
The IE7 uninstallation goes as follows
-enable to view hidden files
(start > control panel > Folder options > View > Show hidden files and folders > apply >ok)

-click on Start > Run
type the following (ther are additional spaces after \ to make them display on this page, you can skip them while typing)

c:\ windows\ ie7\ spuninst\ spuninst.exe
press ok, Follow the on-screen instructions, after completion double-click IE to check that IE6 is working.

3) If the browser is IE6, and still has problems then run system file checker

4) Use Firefox (optional)

If you remove it, Internet Explorer 6 will be back (perosnal experience). The next time you run Windows Update, the original IE7 from Microsoft will be installed and it is fast.

OK, you have XP. Do a system restore to a point of time before you installed IE7. It may halp but mabey not. If IE7 is causing you that many problems, you have deeper troubles in your system than just an upgrade of your browser.

Scan you system for malicios code! Adware, spyware, viruses....the whole lot.

I also downloaded internet explorer 7 and my computer has been slower, freezing, etc. I was told that if you are gonna change you should go to Firefox. I was thinking of going back to ie6 but it might not be a bad time to try something else....you can always go back to internet explorer when they come out with a higher version.

Could be an issue w/ your computer. I had similar problem w/ my Dell Laptop and eventually it froze. Had to re-program. Lost some saved data, however everything's running faster than before. Also downladed Internet explore 7 again and everything's fine. If you have a Dell computer simply hold down CTRL key and f11 at same time when you turn computer on. Instructions step by step will walk you thru reprogramming. FREE

If your PC is slower altogether (even when you are not using IE7) then there is another issue causing it.

If only your browsing performance has slowed down then it may be IE7.

Consequences of removing it .... none.

Turning off the "Phishing Filter" or going to Windows Updates and getting a patch for the same can often make IE 7 much faster and more responsive.
