I have nero back it up, which can compress upto 5%, is there anything to compress more than this?
i normally have music, video and softwares mostly. does compression ratio depend on the stuff u compress?

My Windows XP computer randomly produces a series of rapid beeps followed by a single beep, repeatedly. The number of beeps in the series varies from 3-11, and this series repeats 8-12 times. It happens once every 1-3 weeks, on a random schedule. It seems like a software or hardware alarm, but I cannot figure out what's causing it.

I tend to just switch on my computer when I use it then I switch it off. I always shut down properly though. However in the long run does switching your computer on for half an hour or less then off 2 times a day damage the computer. Thank you

Is not a virus , or spy ware , try to understand the below , i could use some help !!! I very good with computers , and this has me stumped ....
I have a dell dimension 8200 desktop . Files on hard drive open slow when connected to the internet , anyone know why ? files like photos, music, movies that are on the hard drive , and have nothing to do with the internet load slow . Understand when I am not connected to the Internet ( dsl cable ) the Pics , music , and videos open normal speed. Pics, music , and videos load fine when off the connection to DSL ( dsl unhooked ) when i hook up the dsl Pics, music , and videos load slow !!!
Note. temp files deleted , I freed up temp files in memeroy ... Is not a virus , or spy ware , Thanks if anyone gas a clue ..

The kids just need internet access and MS Office. They also need a video card so they can play Lego Star Wars and Cars.

Costco has an emachines C6357 complete system with a nVidia GeForce 6100 for just $499 (flat monitor, speakers, keyboard, mouse, RW DVD and CD). It's Vista compatible, but I don't really care about that right now. It's got a 2-year warranty and Costco will take it back up to 6 months.

We bought a Dell 6 months ago and it's been nothing but trouble and their customer service and tech support is complete CRAP. If money was no object, I'd take a sledgehammer to it.

Remember, I only want to spend about $500, I want it to work, I want to be able to take it back, we won't be using it for photos or music or any major big-league games. The kids are 5 and 7 - they want to play Lego Star Wars, practice typing and go to disney.com.

My sons gaming pc uses DDR2 memory. Currently has two 512 sticks installed in slots A-1 and B-1. The manufacturer (Velocity Micro) said I could use a gig stick to double the memory but to make sure I installed it in the 2 slot. The two slots remaining are marked A-2 and B-2. I tried both and the pc would not boot and gave a series of beeps. What am I doing wrong. Does the dual channel requirement have anything to do with this? Should I be using two 512 sticks? I am positive I have the coorect memory for the pc. Please help.

ok, I just bought sim city 4 deluxe, and every time i go to play it it will send me back to the desktop. I already adjusted the resolution and stuff, but it told me that i need 500 MHZ (i have 448) and a pentium III (which i have but it says i dont have) and 256 MB RAM ( i have 126) how do i fix that.

I bought my pc from comet at xmas its acer sempron 3000+
1.6ghz 512 mb 80gb win xp media centre but i still fin it gets sluggish i use norten anti virus i regulary defrag and uninstall unused applications.someone said its the 1.6ghz bit that does it and i should update this is that true and what is the name of this part?

ok here we are again. i bought a new cd burner. pulled the old one out and rplaced the new one (in the master slot like it recomended) and the put my cd rom in the slave. it will not reconize the burner. and when i put the software in my cd rom that the burner came w/t. it doesn't want to open. i know i have the mim requirements to use this burner. Celron R 1.85 GHz and windows XP OS. 29 G freespace on my hard drive and 224 MB free RAM. i thimk i got ripped on the burner. any help sits would be nice thanks.

After a bad shutdown and having to restart with the option of going into safe mode with the f2 key, I noticed that the computer no longer recognized my secondary drive. Anyone know how I can get the OS to find the path to the drive again? Thanks in advance for your help.

I have a floppy I was just looking at, I removed it from drive then a few minutes later put it back in the drive and now my drive keeps trying to get me to format that disk because it says it isn't formatted. I have an important document I spent the last 4 hours working on and saving to that disk. Closed it and opened it again numerous times in that time but now my disk drive just sits still. Help Please
