We paid $1500 for the Mitsubishi Eclipse. The car came custom, the woman's husband had been a mechanic and had done all sorts of modifications on the car.
My husband evidently sent in all kinds of estimates claiming to have paid to perform the modifications himself, he also claimed to have insurance on the car which was not true. He had not even registered the car's title until after the accident so at the time of the accident the car was still in the previous owner's name. He was paid $5800 for the car.

My 23 year old friend just died in a car accident. The general consensus from authorities who responded to the scene is that if he would have been wearing his seatbelt, he would have survived.
I am so sad. Please, people, always wear your seatbelt. It saves lives!!

My friend got into a car accident. He was hit by someone but it was not his fault. The problem is - he does not have insurance (not even basic- nothing) and his car is not registered. He called the HITTER's insurance, which is AAA. What happens to him? Will his car be fixed? Will something happen to him because he does not have insurance and is not registered? This is a big problem- please help if you know more.

I'm moving to Minnesota from Texas at the beginning of August. My TX car registration runs out in July as does my inspection. Is it fine for me get these while in TX and not get new stickers until July of next year in MN? Also, by when do I have to legally get new license plates and how much does that cost? I don't know any of this stuff. I'm sure I can find this info somewhere online but I'm too lazy right now. Thanks in advance.

Little RFID devices could be installed in all cars for a few cents each. Scanners could be sold to police and other people with legitimate uses for less than $100. VIN numbers and engine numbers could also be on the chip.
This would remove a hassle for auto owners and make life safer and easier for policemen.
The money for annual license plate fees would still be collected but no plates or decals would need be mailed except for people that wanted "vanity plates".

My son had an accident in his 2001 Ford Mustang last Sunday. Our insurance company wants to total out his car. I am afraid that it will not give him what the car is really worth and we will be stuck making up the difference. Even if the insurance company does pay full value, we will have to come up with a down payment for a new car for him and go through all the hassle of shopping for it. Is there any way we can force the insurance company to repair his car? If not, how can we be sure to at least get full value for the car?
