I'm doing a research for my course , comparing this service in my country to which in the USA ...and more specifically about the private and commercial cars... a claim saying that USA's provisions are strictly applied ..i.e the son driving his father private car is not entitled to any compensation in case an accident is occurred .....because it's not the "son" car..(which at the same time is not going the same way here ...as long as the car is insured so anyone drive it is insured ..regardless of the owner of the car...and just there it is the debate point...what do you think about it ?
so ,I'll appreciate if you could feed me with any thoughts any idea any information any links concerning that or even automobile insurance in general...

A minivan rental car backed into my motorcycle today and caused a whole bunch of damage.

Is it possible my insurance rates will go up even if I'm not at fault? Because the bike was parked when this happened (no one driving) do I need to tell insurance companies about it when shopping for a new policy?

I got a ticket from the police 2 years ago when I was 15 and a half. I am now 18 and I recently got my license, but when I applied for auto insurance it was 150 dollars more than usual because of the point court gave me for jaywalking 2 years ago. Did they make a mistake or can they really do that? It had nothing to do with driving! Now, I can't drive because I can't afford my insurance and they told me it'll take 3 years until it's completely off my record. I'm screwed! Anybody have any suggestions on who I should complain to or if they can really do that! It'll help a lot! thanks.

in australia you have a leaners lisence for a year and you get it when you're 16 and then when you turn 17 you can get yout green p's (provisional lisence) which you have for 2 years and then after the 2 years you get your red p's (provisional lisence) and you have them for a year. and then you get your full (black) lisence.

is it similar in america?

I'm a california resident and I bought a used car in North Carolina. I am planning on flying to North Carolina to drive the car across country. Because the car doesn't have a license plate, I went down to the CA DMV to register the car, but they only gave me a temporary permit (red square piece of paper that I'm supposed to stick on the rear of my windshield).

With this piece of paper, am I okay to drive without a license plate on the back of the car from the East coast to the West Coast?

I've already taken out an insurance policy on the car, if that helps your answers.

I recently was rear-ended and I'm not sure how fast they were going, probably not over 25mph and I was at a red light. About 30 minutes after the accident, I started having lower back pain so I took myself to the ER. The doctor said I had a lower back strain due to the accident and prescribed me vicodin and flexoril for the pain. About a week later, I went to another doctor for a follow-up visit and he took x-rays to make sure my spine was ok and it seemed ok, but the lower back strain was still causing a lot of pain so he prescribed a refill of the meds and took me off heavy duty work and told me to do desk work only, the problem is, my work doesn't have desk work at all so I have been home. I don't know how much to settle for other than the medical bills and my wages. How much should I ask for pain and suffering? I have been in pain and I can't do much more than sit and stand and even those I can't do for long without my back going into spasms. I'd appreciate some advice. Thanks!

Obviously don't have the money to do it now, since I dropped over $5,000 on the move here. I have heard from others that sometimes the MVA will allow you to pay in payments. Has anyone had any luck with this?

There was no damage to the pole, but the driver side door, cab, and bed got messed up pretty bad. i didn't call the cops because there was no car-on-car collision and the pole was perfectly fine. I know my rates will go up, but will insurance cover this? I have All State

Ok. I'm about to open a can of worms here, so ladies (as well as whipped men), feel free to complain and moan at me all you want! heh heh.

Guys, haven't you noticed that the majority of wrecks you see are caused by or involved with women? I can never understand how they can get lower insurance rates but be the cause of the majority of wrecks, especially the teenage girls. Plus most of them drive like they don't have a care in the world. Any thoughts?

Ladies, you can call me sexist all you want, but the question still stands.

A guy rear ended us going like 40 or 50 mph. I had to be taken to the ER to be checked out because I was pregnant. I am fine and so is my unborn baby. My question is why his insurance company called me saying they would pay my ER bills plus send me a cash settlement if I was unharmed and so was the baby. Granted I understand them payin the ER bill.
