I just paid my car off, which was under my parents names. Now, they want to transfer the title to my name. What do we need to do? Do we both need to be in attendance at the DMV?

The car insurance on one of my cars runs out in a few days, and the insurance for the second car runs out at the end of this month. I was thinking of holding off on getting insurance for car #1 and start a policy for two cars at the same time. Of course, I don't intend to drive car #1 while it's not insured, it will just sit in my driveway.
I heard that in some states, they will charge you for each day that your car is without insurance, even if you don't drive it.
Is that the case for California?

Hi,

Is there anyway of finding out somebody's date of birth?

I'm seeing a young woman, and I'm sure she is lying about her age.

Any tips?

I'm just complaining about the Lyin' Lizzards, so don't bother pasting in a car insurance website, and don't bother telling me that it's just advertising.
First person who doesn't read this part is an idiot.
And the first person to tattle on them in their answer gets the 10 points.
Good luck! The hunt is on!

Evening all,

I'm in quite a pickle at the minute and I'm hoping that one of your intelligent lot could help me out with some valuable information.

I've been promoted at work and I have been told that I need to listed on the company's vehicle insurance list, even though I have my own vehicle and insurance, and even though we've agreed that I will be using my own vehicle.

Now, the only thing that has come up, which wasn't raised at any other time until recently is that you must possess a "clean" driving license. I have 6 penalty points on my license, though because it has been replaced none of them show up on the actual license itself.

I haven't mentioned anything yet, because I don't want to lose the position, and as already stated, I do not intend to us any of the company vehicles, so I wondering if not mentioning the points would cause any issues with the insurance i.e. do they have a way of finding out if you have any points/driving convictions?

I have sold a car 6 years ago in CA,
The title was signed by both the new owner and myself, and I handed in a photocopy of it to the DMV informing that I am no longer responsible for the car; but unfortunately the one I sold the car to never registered it and completed the transaction, and apparently he left the car in some place and it was towed and impounded, and 6 years latter I am being billed for towing and storage.

I made several copies of the signed title, but I am having problems finding it at the moment.

Is there another way to prove that I am no longer liable for that car?

Its criminal that men should have to pay more for their car insurance!

It is also sexist!

How come for home insurance we all pay the same price?
oh yes its because "insurance is a lottery" why can't the same be done with car insurance?

I'm not a boy racer why should i have to pay more?

I drive a rented Ryder truck while at work and I live in Massachusetts. I'm not sure that the truck being a rental makes a difference. I was wondering if the accident counts toward my record and/or if my insurance has to pay for it. I assume it is the company's insurance that covers it but I was unaware if my insurance rate would rise on my personal account.

Last night i was at the movies with some family. When we came out, we were leaving when this white suv, didnt recognize make or model, just backed up so fast and hit my front left bumper and broke my headlights and my car got dented. I think they were drunk because they just started laughing, we could her them, but as soon as they hit us, they went straight and fled. We couldnt reach them in time, but my car got a bad hit.

what can i do now? i wasnt able to get the name, number, license plate number, make, or model. just that it was a white suv with the metal things on the car lights.

thanks.

Hey everyone,

Ok, I've been driving for 4 years, conviction free and recently I was caught doing 38mph in a 30 zone and was convicted of speeding (given 3 penalty points).

I accept fault for this and I'm not expecting any sympathy, as speeding is bad! However, it is my first conviction and my car insurance is coming up for renewal in 3 months.

Please don't take offence to this question, but do I need to declare this speeding offence and will the insurance company be able to check with the DVLA?

I have a friend who's been disqualified from driving who was still able to get car insurance despite being disqualified, which is odd, because I would have thought that the insurance companies would have access to your driving records. Is this right?
