Insurance & Registration - September 2007

was given a ticket for unisured ,unregistered vehicle and attaching wrong plates.It is checked criminal offense.

The problem is that I was not the one driving the unregistered car-my wife was.She only got a ticket for operating with expired driver's license.The police listed me as the owner but that is also incorrect-she is the owner.
Can the police officer give me the ticket anyway? What can I expect at the court date? Do I need a lawyer?

I plan on selling my car soon, and i would like to re-paint certain parts of my car. Not the whole car, just areas where it has rust. Can I claim this on my car insurace? I have AllState.

I have recently bought an SX4 vxi.But now the problem is that my driver finds it very difficult to drive since he had been first been driving an maruti 800 and a santro( the old version) since the SX4 is very broad and long he is finding difficulties to drive it in high traffic especially with the rough Buses and taxis on the road.My car has already had an accident causing an damage of 12 thousand only for external repair and 6 thousand for paint.Please can you sujest me what to do other than selling my sx4 and buying a small car.
