Because of work, I need to move out of the country. I leased a Honda Accord this January, and now I must turn in the car early. The manager at the dealer where I leased the car is a friend, and she said she has a friend who needs to lease the car so she can take over the lease for me. However, I must remain the owner of the lease and car with the DMV, and the lady will purchase insurance (300k/100k) and pay the payments. If I accept this deal, I will save over $2000 (the money I have to pay if I return the car back to Honda).

My questions are:

1) What sort of risks am I looking at if I do let her "take over the lease"?
2) Is this recommended?
3) What should I be aware of if I do take the deal?

Thanks to all for answering in advance!

Simple Scenario: I was driving and stopped for a school bus. The driver behind me hit my car. I felt one impact. Damage was front his front bumper and my rear. No damage was found on his rear at scene of accident. Situation was written by police officer for following to close for driver of vehicle that hit mine. Driver who hit me claims that a phantom vehicle behind him came in contact with his vehicle which caused it to hit mine. Police officer did not pay much attention to this but I assume he probably took note of that.

We both have the same insurance company. My agent is telling me that my deductable is not waived that I may have to pay it due to the possibility of the phantom vehicle being involved.

My question: Why would I pay for the claim out of my coverage when a ticket was issued by a police officer in my favor and there is no actual evidence to conclude this phantom vehicle? I am the victim and I am paying 100%.

I was recently pulled over in SC driving my mother's car. When I was pulled the officer said my SC license was still valid, how can that be when I had to surrender my SC license over a year ago for my NY license? Is it an error in the system? My car insurance, registration, and title are all for NY. As far as I know it's illegal to have 2 licenses, shall I call NY dmv or SC dmv, will there be a fine? Is there a way to prove I surrendered it?

I was driving home one night and I fell aslee at the wheel causing me to run into the back of a parked car. Since i had been drinking I started my car and drove off. I called my insurance a couple days later and filed a claim saying I rann off the road and hit a fence. They have my recorded statement already and I went today to pick up my check. When I arrived at the office they told me that they needed to do some more investigating to the claim. I also got into a wreck about 5 months ago where a car did hit me and ran off. Is the insurance company wondering why I have been in two wrecks and no other party involved? Is the standard to investigate? What would happen if I came back and told them the thruth? Most importantly AM I STILL GOING TO GET MY CHECK?

My relative was the original owner of my vehicle, and signed the title over to me. I have signed it, but not registered it yet since we just moved out of state. We are now selling the vehicle AS IS (outside the state of where it was purchased), but are not able to get it inspected since it is awaiting to be fixed.
How can you sign the title over to someone when your name is on it, and it is not yet registered in the state you currently reside?
Any websites or statutes would be great! Thanks in advance..

I want to change my Auto Insurance provider. I am filling in a new application which asks for any previous violations. I got a speeding ticket 20 days ago. If I do not specify this fact, is it OK?

Will they reject my insurance? (They will look my history and find it anyway. But just want to take a chance by not specifying it myself)

I rear ended a guy after he suddenly stopped. It was right after an intersection where the light was yellow. I chose to go through it because I was approx 20 - 30ft away from the intersection when it turned yellow and I was going 45 mph. The guy in front of me goes through the intersection without slowing down one bit and suddenly does major breaking coming to a complete stop, not like easing into it at all just breaks as hard as he could suddenly. I was about 15 ft behind him. I know I should have had more room between our cars, but it was a yellow light and I did not want to be caught in the intersection to get ticketed for a red light. SO after hitting him we pull over and I try to get his information, but he doesn't have a Driver's License or insurance, but his Dad the passenger does. So after arguing with him fro 15 mins about wanting his information he decides that he just wants to walk away. SO they drive away leaving me only with a license plate number.Help! Shouldn'tHeBeFalt

Hi all. I bought a brand new car a couple of months ago from New Jersey, paid in full and paid the dealer the tax for Virginia, where I live. 3 weeks later I got my plates and registration in the mail. However I still have not received my car title. Dealer (when I spoke with him 3 weeks ago) said that the title will follow within 2-3 weeks after the plates...
thanks

There is a house-party ordinance, and it has been adopted in 43 states, which allows police to enter a private residence if they suspect someone under 21 is consuming liquor, even if adults are present. http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,1047499-1,00.html
Why is this good. I know it will help reduce teen drunk driving, but I need 2 other reasons.
PLEASE help!

I already switched insurance company after some issues with ING insurance (for auto), and now its like they're blackmailing me!

The switch is already made, but right before, the broker guy was saying how they're looking into the old files and "magically" (imo) comes with with a REALLY old accident of one of the drivers insured. That is impossible for at least 3 years!! Since that person is rarely here (out of country) and for sure no accident has happened for the last three years.

Now they're messing with the new insurance company and the NEW broker called and said "they're holding onto the files because of a accident (thats suppose to have happened a really long time ago)."

The ING people said this is going to make your record bad it takes at least 6 years for an accident record to go away blah blah. While I have heard NOTHING about this after years of using ING until THIS POINT. And they're saying how its going to raise your insurance and so on.

ANY advice would be great

My truck is registered in Texas. It was damaged over 2 years ago and all repairs were brought up to original specs. It passed all inspections and has been used to tow a 5th wheel. It is not a broken down truck. The other party with Progressive insurance has admitted guilt and takes full responsibility for the accident.

I was in a car accident last week - I have a brand new car and I want it fixed.

It was a chain reaction - three cars - mine being the last.

I found out today that the striking vehicle - that hit the black car - that hit my car does not have insurance!!!!

What do I do now?
