My relative was the original owner of my vehicle, and signed the title over to me. I have signed it, but not registered it yet since we just moved out of state. We are now selling the vehicle AS IS (outside the state of where it was purchased), but are not able to get it inspected since it is awaiting to be fixed.
How can you sign the title over to someone when your name is on it, and it is not yet registered in the state you currently reside?
Any websites or statutes would be great! Thanks in advance..

Title laws vary from state to state so it looks like you will have quite a paper trail to pick-up.
You are dealing with several states so you'll need to explain this to the buyer.
This site should do it for you:
http://www.dmv.org/

Note: You should start with the DMV of the state that you currently reside. The link above should be able to link you to it.
I hope this helps

The absolutely free reverse vin check sites generally provide fake information. To get real information, money will have to be paid. The free searches provide fake information so they can get your email address to send spam.

Stay away from shady reverse vin check sites, most likely you won't get any information after you make the payment. Not to mention you won't get a report and you won't get an answer if you try to call for a refund. Stick with a reputable reverse vin check site like http://www.reversevincheck.net that has been around since 1995.

Check with your state's Department of Motor Vehicles - it will depend on the state you reside in.

Your name has to be on the FRONT of the title.
You have to become the titled owner before you can transfer it.
So.....
You have to mail it to your states dept of motor vehicles and wait for them to return it to you as the titled owner.
Then you can sign it over to someone else.

ITS BEST IF YOU CONTACT YOUR LOCAL (DMV) DEPARTMENT OF MOTOR VEHICLES OFFICE, THEY WILL BE ABLE TO ANSWER ANY AND ALL OF YOUR QUESTIONS AND AT THE SAME TIME YOU WILL BE GETTING THE CORRECT ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION.
