I understand the price they offered is the actual cash value. Is it true that the ACV is always lower then the retail value??

I was involved in a car accident and it’s determined that it’s 100% the other party’s fault. My car was a total loss. . My insurance (Allstate) did the valuation and offered me a below market price for my car.

The car I lost is a 1997 Toyota Camry LE 4 cylinder, 4D, Green, 73,800 miles on the odometer, clean title, regular maintenance, fairly new tire, CD player, excellent condition.

They used two same-model cars for comparison when doing the car valuation. One is with 188000 miles and the other is with 114000 miles. And they averaged the two values and came up with $6597. But the one I lost is at 73,800 miles.

With $6597, I can only get only get a Camry with about 130000 miles, almost doubled the miles I had, according to Yahoo Auto search result. They argued that 130000 miles is comparable with 73,800 miles........

K, so I've rented thru Enterprise dozens of time before. The last time I rented the car, I dropped it off at a "drop box" location (you know when u park the car in their lot and put the keys in their drop box) ~BIG MISTAKE!!!!! Next couple of days, i get a letter stating the TRUNK has a dent on it...cross my heart...I didnt do it!! What sucks is that their charging me $400+ to fix it...and they say I am responsible for the car until the next morning...understandable, but i cant convince myself this is "fair"!! I have to pay for damage that I didnt do...is there ANYTHING I can do??!?!?

I'm considering purchasing a vehicle that has a salvaged title. Will I have any problems registering this in Mexico?

What about a vehicle with no title/temporary title? I also came across a great car that has a temporary title- the guy said he's been trying to get the original from the woman he purchased the car from, but that she has not returned his calls. He has a temporary title he got from the dmv. How does this work? Do I go in and apply for a temporary title in my name? Will I have any problems registering this in Mexico?

I'm looking for a new car insurance company. Of course I want something that is inexpensive but I am not worried about that. I want something that will help me the best in case I get into a car accident. (Meaning not calling back and forth to get the help and answers I need, direct forward responses, etc.) Would anyone happen to have a website that gives reviews on car insurance? Please don't respond with just a company, tell me who and why. Thank you.

I got into an accident and it's determined it's 100% the other party's fault. The other party is insured. My car is a total loss. My insurance company (Allstate) offered me a below market price value for me car. They offered $6500 but my car is currently selling around $7500 in the market according to my research. I have countered their offer, faxed over all my research result, can contacted the adjuster's manager. They are still very firm about what they can offer. They said they will not add a penny to the offer.

I don’t understand… this accident is entirely NOT my fault. My insurance company does not have to pay anything for my loss. All cost goes to the other party’s insurance company. Why would my insurance offer me a below market price and force me to take a loss????

I have also filed a claim to California State Insurance Department, don’t know how much they can help me on the case.

Any body has any idea what I should do at this point???

ok so this is how it started. my very abusive x boyfriend took out a car loan as if he was going to purchase my car. the bank sent the check to me and in exchange i was suppose to give him the car all though that was never his intention. i cashed and the check and gave him the money. he gave me a portion and for a year now he has been making payments. now that we have broken up and he has lost his job he wants to take my car and sell it so that he can pay off the loan. even thought the cars registration insurance and title are in my dads name he said that he was getting a lawyer and taking the car. can they repoe my car?

I was a week late in paying my insurance and I get suspended for a year, even though I renewed the insurance and showed it to the judge. Is that excessive. Life just got hectic and I overlooked it. It happens.

This happened at the beginning of this month, she admitted fault and said she would pay for repairs if we didn't open a claim. My parents decided to open a claim and now my claims adjuster is trying to get a hold of her but she's nowhere to be found! I don't have any info other than her number, name, and email. I DON'T WANT TO HEAR HOW I SHOULD'VE GOTTEN HER INFORMATION, OKAY?? I KNOW THAT ALREADY. So now I don't know what to do...track her down...get a lawyer?

I parked my car in the parking lot. I looked my left side and it was clear. Then I opened my door, and was going to come out. Right at that moment, another car came to my left side parking space and hit the edge of my left side door. She said that she was sorry about it. Then I called my insurance company and they told me it is my fault 100%. And I will get surcharge, too.

I can't believe this. They hit me and it is my fault.

Any advice?

My girlfriend was just in a car accident and we need to get a new car. She drives the car for work and i get the train. I only really use it on the weekend.

Can i take out a policy on the new car and have her as a named driver, even tho she is the main driver? It works out much cheaper to do this as she has 6 points and a claim, while i have 2 NCB and a clean licence.

I filled in an online application and one of the options allows me to select "Business Use for All". I assume this will cover both of us for any use regardless of who drives more?

Thanks for your help

JR

I have been going through physical therapy and such off and on and I am owed PIP benefits(michigan) but my agent wont respond or return my calls. Right now he owes me roughly 1500 for my expenses over a year and owes some medical places for tests and medical work done on me as a result of the accident, I am now being taken to collections over those bills. I have called numerous times and left lots of messages. I filed my PIP claim in time and its been months and still no response at all, what actions can I take to fix this. any help would be nice, I can't even work a regular job till I go back to physical therapy but he wont pay so I can't!

I am picking up my new car today and my young toy boy Edward...26 wants to drive it too. I havent added him as a second driver to my insurance policy as i find it puts the price up. He says he can still drive my car as he is insured as fully comp and can drive it 3rd party. My argument is that if he does crash my car then there wouldnt be much cover and i would probably be without a car. Does anyone know the in's and out's of people driving other peoples cars if they are not a named driver and how much cover they would have. We had a terrible barney about this today and he left in a huff saying i dont share. :(

just wondering if either of the options causes a higher insurance rate. Or is business or pleasure is considered more risky by insurers.
