I'm looking for a new car insurance company. Of course I want something that is inexpensive but I am not worried about that. I want something that will help me the best in case I get into a car accident. (Meaning not calling back and forth to get the help and answers I need, direct forward responses, etc.) Would anyone happen to have a website that gives reviews on car insurance? Please don't respond with just a company, tell me who and why. Thank you.

I have AAA and they are very good with responding and getting things fixed and paid. I recently had an accident and dealing with Farmers is the WORSE!

This probably isn't what you want to hear but your best bet is not to get insurance online. I work for an insurance company and we get tons of people coming in complaining about getting insurance online and not understanding the terms or pay options... Honestly, the names you've heard of are probably your best bet...AAA, State Farm, Nationwide, All State, Progressive, GMAC, AIG, Geico... Go to an insurance broker in your area and they can help you best. They'll put all of your info in a rater and it'll tell them what the best company is for your. Then you can compare rates. Just be sure that your liability limits are high enough that if you total someone's car you have enough insurance to replace it (example: you can't buy a car for $15k anymore and most people have $15K as their liab limit so anything over that comes out of your pocket ). Good luck!

Sounds like you're fed up with all the mucking about that you can get involved in, in a car accident. Whether it's your fault or not, there's always some haslte involved, with the car repairs, replacements etc. as well as dealing with the insuance companies and the paperwork which it takes to get through it.
I had a similar problem actually, having been involved in a collision which I was not at fault for. Needless to say, it still bugged me to no end. I was not happy with the smoothness of my insurance company at all.
I jumped onto a website called 2insure4less who do free quotes for all the major insurance firms and make them compete for you. It's totally free and you don't need to commit, or need a credit card or anything. It got me onto my new insurer (liberty mutual) for 30% less than I was paying, and I've already found myself praising their excellent service.
If you want a free no obligation quote you'd be a fool to go past 2insure4less. Tacky name, but do the job well. You can check it out here:

Hope I was some help. Good luck with the choosing, anyway!

I have always had State Farm. (about 33 yrs) I find that the rates are a little less expensive than others. I have had several accident related claims some at fault and other not at fault. In all cases I was very please with them. It could be the agent.. but I have changed agents several times b/c of moves I have made. I try to get an agent close to my home. I am sure I drive these people crazy because I usually call once a month to ask questions about something! I have all my insurance policies, vehicle, jewelry, life, homeowners... all. They will also give discounts with multiple vehicles on the plan. You can also save monthly by using their draft plan from your checking or savings account.

well i switched from state farm 2 weeks ago. i'm 23 and was paying a little more than I wanted mainly because i'm a male that's 23. instead of being referred to just one company i was referred to a bunch of them, and i got a pretty good rate, i now pay only $130/months verses the $180 i was paying with state farm. i now have AIG and they are pretty good, the coverage is a lot better too. and some of my buddies did the same thing and most of them saved quite a bit. so if you want to try it out call the number i did: 1-877-855-8111. it's a branch off company of citigroup called primerica, very trustworthy since it's like one of the biggest banks. just have your basic car info ready and previous insurance. and you'll need the code MHAX8 to get your rates. hope this helps...

NEVER get Allstate! They are very very sucks.... I just got into an accident last month and it's 100% the other party's fault. My car is a total loss. Allstate offered a below market price on my car and threaten if i don't accept it, they'll tow my car back to my home and not gonna handle my case any more.... They never work on your behalf even you are not at fault. They give you lots of hardship and frustration... All the adjusters are rude and all they can do is to PISS U OFF...

I am with state farm, I have had claims with them, both at fault and not at fault, and also comprehension claims, such as broken windshiels, etc. They treated me great. I would recommend to everyone.
