This morning before work I went to the gym and when I returned I found that someone had dented my back driver-side wheel arch. I filed a police report, hoping they could get access to the CCTV footage there (so long as the system was working correctly) and find out who was responsible. However, if they're not able to trace the person responsible, I'm not keen to lose my first chance of a no claims bonus and end up with even more expensive insurance. (My insurance last time was £700 for a Punto because someone crashed into me and the claim was outstanding when I renewed. I didn't get any money back though when it was found to be not my fault, so under 25s must be the same risk profile for insurance purposes whether they cause a crash or are victim of one). Please could someone let me know the insurance implications if I:

1) Report it to my insurance and future insurers but don't make a claim, repairing it myself.
2) Don't report it and repair it myself.

Thanks very much.

I am thinking about buying a used 2WD CRV, or something of that nature. I am wondering if insurance is typically higher on that type of vehicle.

My future daughter in law is manipulative. She caught me off guard, and I loaned her my car for two days. Although she was to drive the car only to take her daughter to school and to dance lessons, she put 175 miles on my car. How do I refuse future requests without seeming like a "meanie"???

If you're in a fended bender, but it doesn't cause any damage to either car or to either person. Do you have anything to worry about?
There was no information collected or anything like that.

My friends see me as being wise and all knowing. Well, believe it or not I don't know everything. Here is the situation.

A friend of my friend was driving their car. She hits something and leaves the scene. She has insurance, but she wasn't driving her car. My friend who's car she was in this accident with also has insurance but he wasn't driving the car.

She wants to do the right thing. She wants to fix this. What would be the best way to go about getting this solved? I'm not sure what tell to him but I really don't want him waiting around to long. It's already been about 2 hours since the accident.

we hired a car4 2 days we took great care of it parkin away from cars we know people hit your car doors but to our horror we noticed a scratch on door. the hire company said that if we took out £30 extra the excess would be £100 but if we didnt it would be £600 (he told us just as we were gettin in car + i dont know about excess but i think it was was if we wrecked the car we;d have to pay £600

im making myself ill thinkin about returnin car, they took at £200 security deposit but obviously were worried he will see the small scratch mark he did a quick check on the car and there was already a scratch on the car that we couldnt see (so were thinkin if he seen that he'll definately see this 1 (were not sure but wer sure the new scratch wasnt the one he was talking about. its to go back 2moro, we went to halfrods and got this cream stuff and polished it, it helped a wee bit but its still noticable its not fair that this person who scratched it caused this. i cant afford £600.?? please

Joe is in accident - hits Jane. Jane and others in car are messed up. Jane sustains injuries costing nearly a million dollars. Jane recovers after a month of suffering pain including lost wages, etc.
Joe was driving dad's car (without dad's permission). Joe has a license, but because of Joe's bad driving record, he is excluded from dad's insurance and has his own insurance, the bare minimum. Joe is 26, lives with dad, has no job or assets.
Dad has a home, good insurance, but because Joe is high-risk, chose to exclude Joe from his insurance. Okay, Joe has his own insurance.
Joe's insurance barely covers a small portion of Jane's medical bills. (Jane also has minimum insurance, has under-insured motorists, but not enough to cover extensive medical bills).
Question: Can Jane go after Joe's dad, since it was dad's truck? Not after dad's insurance, but after dad's assets personally since dad excluded Joe from insurance? It would seem that the dad should bear some responsibility.

I got a quote from a comparison website and didn’t get a good quote so I left it but then one of the companies rung me up asking the usual insurance quote questions. And they gave me a really good quote I was happy and passed my bank details on but since then no money has been debited out of my account and I haven’t received an insurance certificate. And me being the stupid person I am lost the company name, reference number and contact number. Is there anyway I can find out who I’m insured with?

I just turned 16 about a month ago. And I thought that all this time in Michigan you had to take Drivers Ed no matter how old you were. But I read that if your 18 and over you can get a TIP permit. And have a parent or someone with a license over 21 teach you. But first you have to take a 40 question knowlege test about road signs and something else, and you have to pass it. Then after 30 days of driving you go back and have to pass a road test. Then you get your license.

Well my question is, ive drove in a cemetary and on a country road. Hell I used to steer a car when I was 10, my dad would let me practice. I used to drive golf carts, even steered a boat at 15. Drove a john deere gator. When I first got behind the wheel of a car I had no problems, and practiced backing up and all that. But it was never on a public road or highway with lights and other cars. Should I wait until im 18 to get my license?
