I've looked on the DMV website and everywhere else I can think of. I need to know how many people can be registered on the same car in CA at the same time for insurance purposes. Thanks!!

I need to know how many people can be registered on a car at one time in the state of CA. My insurance company is saying unless all of the people living in my household are on one another's registration because my sister is over 26.. otherwise she will need her own seperate policy.

Persons can be on the car for insurance purposes who are not on the registration. Put only the owner(s) on the registration. Put all other drivers on the policy as "additional drivers".

This is controlled by the insurance company, not the DMV. The person who owns the vehicle gets coverage and adds any additional persons on the policy.
