I just turned 16 about a month ago. And I thought that all this time in Michigan you had to take Drivers Ed no matter how old you were. But I read that if your 18 and over you can get a TIP permit. And have a parent or someone with a license over 21 teach you. But first you have to take a 40 question knowlege test about road signs and something else, and you have to pass it. Then after 30 days of driving you go back and have to pass a road test. Then you get your license.

Well my question is, ive drove in a cemetary and on a country road. Hell I used to steer a car when I was 10, my dad would let me practice. I used to drive golf carts, even steered a boat at 15. Drove a john deere gator. When I first got behind the wheel of a car I had no problems, and practiced backing up and all that. But it was never on a public road or highway with lights and other cars. Should I wait until im 18 to get my license?

Reason why is because my family cannot afford 300 bucks for drivers ed.

Oh and for the error above^ the test is to memorize traffic signs and something else (I cant remember haha)

You should wait until you are 18 It should not be seen as a right to have a license more a privilege you have earned~~
