Fraudulent insurance claims is a crime. It can be as simple as felony fraud to as complex as grand theft if the check you collected is above the limit which would be more than just one crime, not to mention the hit and run (traditionally misdemeanor) and damage to another vehicle in which you will need to pay restitution if the party affected is discovered
The most likely reason for the investigation is that you have had 2 incidences within a year that have similar stories, which is no other party of fault can be pointed to. Also, vehicle accidents have signature dents and tell tale signs. A good claims adjuster can determine if the shape of a dent is due to inanimate object not vehicle related to is it another vehicle. The fact, you stated your car hit a fence and your dent was due to another car, the dent may have transferred paint from the accident onto yours.
Someone at the parked car incident may have seen your car and recorded your license tag and reported it. You may have told someone the truth and they felt it necessary to report your fraud.
You have several problems going on here.
1. You placed a fraudulent claim.
2. Fraudulent claims are prosecutable
3. You will be 10 years or longer before another insurance company will consider insuring you because of your fraud
4. You should declare your truth even though it will still cause problems, but you can show regret and work out a deal of restitution to pay back the cost of processing your claim
5. by declaring the truth, you may avoid prosecution and jail time. You will still have a black ball situation of possibly getting replacement insurance as most likely, your company will terminate your policy. Check your state to see if they provide state insurance
6. If you are lucky to get replacement insurance, it will be at a significant higher cost because of the risk exposure and they may electively exclude comp and collision from your policy
7. excluded comp and collision makes it hard to get a loan or lease on a car because they require you have both
8. consult legal aide or if you can afford an attorney versed in both criminal and insurance law in how they can assist you to approach the company and help you avoid jail time and prosecution as no you will not be getting a check nor would I encourage you to try to even attempt to get it since it is insurance fraud and you would be subject to pay it back
Your biggest problem? Most likely drinking. You had no business being behind a vehicle after drinking as it slows your nervous system and makes your responses to sludge, which most likely caused you to fall asleep as it was late at night and you were under the influence.
Seek help for your irresponsible drinking as it lead to this big mess you have created all because you felt the need to lie about the circumstances of your vehicle damage. AA may seem hokey to some, but it does help those who are willing to be open to its suggestions as all things rehabilitative, it is not a sudden overnight solution but a choice to change the way you live solution.
Definition of alcholism - when you drink, you cannot control your drinking and you make poor choices resulting from it that causes injury to your self (soul) or to others around you. So even the person who may drink only once a month can be an alcoholic if they cannot control their drinking when they do drink
The following is from Edgar Allan Poe's Tell Tale Heart
The officers were satisfied. My MANNER had convinced them. I was singularly at ease. They sat and while I answered cheerily, they chatted of familiar things. But, ere long, I felt myself getting pale and wished them gone. My head ached, and I fancied a ringing in my ears; but still they sat, and still chatted. The ringing became more distinct : I talked more freely to get rid of the feeling: but it continued and gained definitiveness -- until, at length, I found that the noise was NOT within my ears.
"Villains!" I shrieked, "dissemble no more! I admit the deed! -- tear up the planks! -- here, here! -- it is the beating of his hideous heart!"
I believe you now realized your wrong. Now is your opportunity to do the best of right. I do wish you luck and very many prayers on this trying time. It is best you face the situation head on and beg for mercy instead of waiting and having them discover on their own.

Well....what you did is a crime and people are prosecuted for it.
It's called insurance fraud.
If you were really smart - you would contact the adjuster - tell them you would like to withdraw your claim and sign a claim withdrawal form. You will not get a check. But most people who withdraw the claim with out payment are not prosecuted for insurance fraud.
I am not going to tell you anymore or how to beat the fraud investigator.
You are a criminal. People like you are the reason the rest of us pay such high insurance rates.
And of course, I don't have to tell you what a *&%$ you are for drinking and driving and placing every other driver on the road at risk of death or injury because of your actions.

If you it a car, parked or not and left the scene of the accident without making a reasonable effort to contact the owner of the other vehicle or property, you have committed a crime. (Hit and run) If you made a false claim to the insurance company, you a have committed another crime. (Insurance fraud) If you are found out, you will not get a check and you will likely be incarcerated.

Of course the insurance company is going to investigate before they pay up. They are in the money making business, not there to hand out money. They may or may not be wondering why you were in two accidents. They just have to be sure everything matches up before they pay up. Then they will raise your premium because you are a liability.
Getting your check is the last thing you should be worried about. You should have not lied about that.

Idiot. The "most important" thing here to you is that YOU get your check?
I mean, who cares about that other persons car right? Who cares about the people you could have killed drinking and driving.
People like you make me sick. Your are a crook and a criminal and if your smart youll go withdraw your claim right now and pray that a cop doesnt show up at your door for a hit and run.

your most importantly should be making sure your report isnt found to be false. this could lead to myriad ramifications like jail/fines/court/cancellation of your policy and the inability to ever get any type of insurance again but you should not tell them the truth now. its too late and by doing this you will be getting yourself into deep trouble you dont want.also, investgating is just their fancy footwork for saying," we're gonna need more time before we pay you." so dont trip, relax and dont tell on yourself. dont become your own enemy due to your paranoia

I received a disability check I wasn't entitled to. I'm bipolar and my sister was handling my money matters. I didn't realize that being my social security award was increased I wasn't entitled. when I figured it out I returned one of the checks and told them I wasn't entitled. Now they want to take a recorded statement. Can I offer to repay and will that make it go away.
