Hi all. I bought a brand new car a couple of months ago from New Jersey, paid in full and paid the dealer the tax for Virginia, where I live. 3 weeks later I got my plates and registration in the mail. However I still have not received my car title. Dealer (when I spoke with him 3 weeks ago) said that the title will follow within 2-3 weeks after the plates...
thanks

ITS BEST IF YOU CONTACT YOUR LOCAL (DMV) DEPARTMENT OF MOTOR VEHICLES OFFICE, THEY WILL BE ABLE TO ANSWER ANY AND ALL OF YOUR QUESTIONS AND AT THE SAME TIME YOU WILL BE GETTING THE CORRECT ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION.

The title is mailed by the VA DMV. If you have not received it, check with the local DMV office to see if it was returned by the post office for some reason, If not, and the title work was done, you can get a duplicate title issued!

Check your registration card to be sure that your address is correct!

Could be it's been delayed in the mail for whatever reason. Check with the VA DMV to make sure the paper work was done and the title was mailed out. If it was, give it another week, then apply for a lost title.

DMV is slow. IT can take up to 8 weeks to get it. Generally it take 6-8 weeks to get your title.

IT SOMETIMES HAPPENS WHEN THE DEALER STILL HAS NOT SUBMITTED ALL THE INFO TO THE TAG OFFICE. WAIT A COUPLE MORE WEEKS IF NOT YOU CAN PERSONALLY GO TO THE TAG OFFICE AND FIND OUT YOUR TITLE INFORMATION.
