I met someone a few years ago who told me they had car insurance through their drivers license. I have never heard about that before. How is this possible? I live in Los Angeles as did the woman who had the insurance on her license. How does one get car insurance on a drivers license?

My wife was involved in an auto accident last October. The other party submitted a claim to our insurance company this February for personal injury. The insurance company has determined very little liability and have not been able to come to an agreement on the terms of settlement. We have just discovered the other party has filed a personal injury suit against my wife. Can this be done at the same time? Is the insurance company supposed to deal with this? If the other party gets paid by the insurance company, would my wife still be liable for damages? What if the insurance company and the other party never come to an agreement? Help?!

Wait,,,Now I asked about me living in FL and my car title being in my name (title being ownership) and wanting to just register the car in someone elses name for insurance purposes). When I lived in NY my car was titled in my grandmothers name (who was in her 80's at the time and never drove a day in her life) but I registered it in my name with my insurance. So you are telling me that in FL I cant do this?

i have just had my car stolen and was wandering if it was worth claiming on. It is insured for £2500 and they are willing to right it off and pay up but I have a new car that I need to get insurance for. My cheapest qoute is £450. Anyone have a rough idea how much my insurance would go up if I claimed for my old car?? Basically... should i just accept my losses on the old car or claim. cheers

Hey so i just moved from California and right before we moved my little brother got his driver license. They guy at the DMV asked him what his address was and he told the guy our new address which is not in California. And he just got it in the mail and it's a California license but it has another state's address and everything.......what's with that? was it a mistake? Doesn't he have to get a new driver license in our new state?? Does anyone know anything about this? thanks
