They sent me a new license plate, is that mean the old plate not valid anymore, do I have to return the old plate to DMV??
I live in Florida.

I live in FL, and they told me to throw it away. I cut it up first.

Many States issue a new plate every so many years to compensate for possible damage and unreadability. replace the old plate with the new one and dispose of the old one. No need to return it to DMV.

The plate should be surrendered to the DMV, or you can keep it in the garage as a wall decoration.

Yes, the new plate means the old one is no longer valid.

Nail it to the garage wall. Make a birdhouse roof out of it. break it in pieces and put it in the trash.
