example someone I know has gotten speeding tickets and tickets for having accidents etc. these have caused him to loose his license once. now it looks like he only has one more ticket to go and he will not be able to drive ever again. this does not make sense to me. how does this ticket thing work?

I'm taking the test in about a week, and I just wanted to know if you get your license the same day you pass, or if you have to wait for it to come in the mail or something. Also, I was wondering if parallel parking is something they test you on

I am going for my license on the 21st of September and I have been practicing parallel parking and my permit book says that you need to be 12 in. or less to the curb and I was just wondering when you guys went if the instructor held you to that or if they just want you to get in the cones and line. I really could use some advice, b/c i am pretty scared and I am having a hard time parking like that without hitting the curb!! Thanks!!

I am insured on my mums car as a second driver. I let my friend drive the car back in january 2007 after him telling me he had insurance and a license but it turned out he lied to me and he didnt have either only a provisional license. a police officer knocked on my door at the end of may and i explained this, he said court summons would be coming through the mail.. they never came. in june he came back again, after losing my details. he said the summons would arrive soon.. he thought the owner of the car was me? its now september i still havent received anything. is it still valid? can anyone advise on what ill be looking at when the summons come through, will i be the one in trouble or will it be my mother or what? im clueless on the matter.. lol thanks :)

The stole the rims and tires, but other than that there doesn't seem to be much damage. The keys were in the car when the police recovered it.

I don't know if they used my social or old insurance or what, but someone out there has a car registered in my name (in a different state,) and their parking fines arrived at my parents' house. The fines were made out to my maiden name and went to an address I haven't been to in over 6 years.

What is the appropriate course of action here?

my parents say that the insurance will be really high and i won't be able to afford it. the car i want is a 2002 pontiac firebird formula. supposedly that makes it high to begin with but then i was already in 2 accidents - one was not my fault and one i hit a light pole. i am 16 which i guess only makes it worse. does anybody have any idea if the insurance will be really high or not {like how much will it be?} i know its a stupid question, but still.

Hello,

I'm a 17-year-old NYS resident who has a NYS learners permit.

My family owns an apartment in Florida which we travel to many times a year.

In New York, in order to get your NYS license under the age of 18, you must take a drivers education course. I never took this course. Why? I have outside of school obligations that require nearly all my free time.

During my next trip to Florida, can I take a road test in Florida and receive a drivers license from Florida? Can I then use it in New York? Do I have to be a resident of Florida? I don't attend school in Florida so I don't believe I'm a full resident. I don't know what classification I would fall under, do you?

Please don't simply quote the DMV website. I have looked at both New York's DMV website as well as Florida's DMV website and the wording is very vague.

Thanks for your help.

I live in Arizona and I plan to get my class g license really soon and I was just wondering about something. Will I have to take another test like I did for my learner's permit. I heard that when you go and get that g class license that if you took the learner's permit test less than six or seven months ago, that you don't have to take a test for the g class license. I know you still have to do a road course test. Thank you for the help.
