my parents say that the insurance will be really high and i won't be able to afford it. the car i want is a 2002 pontiac firebird formula. supposedly that makes it high to begin with but then i was already in 2 accidents - one was not my fault and one i hit a light pole. i am 16 which i guess only makes it worse. does anybody have any idea if the insurance will be really high or not {like how much will it be?} i know its a stupid question, but still.

16, with 2 accidents, high power sports car, I can't tell you how much the insurance will be because I can't count that high!

As nice as a Pontiac Formula Firebird is, it's a poor choice for a 16 y/o. If you lived where I live in Illionois, the insurance could easily be $4K a year. Find a used 2 year old Mazda 3. That would be my recommendation for a good used car. At todays gas prices, why do you want a V8 anyway?

In general, the more valuable and newer the car, the higher the insurance. If you're only 16, insurance will be expensive to begin with, so you may want to go with an older car in order to get the payments down.

Exactly how much it will be depends on your location.

go to progressive.com I go through them and I'm 19, they had the best rate after I called around to different auto insurance companies. I've never had a ticket or accident (knock on wood) but I pay 233 a month, which is high but being the age that you are and your accidents it's kind of hard to find a low rate.

Everyone else is lacking the factor!!! Yes to impeach The further depreciation rate to these 2 automobiles will rate you way more in the end. It will rate you another $2 hundred-$three hundred extra a month for each and every automobile for further depreciation and protection rate. Try and discover a historic $3000-$4000 Honda or Toyota. If you force it a pair years, the automobile will nonetheless be valued at $2000-$3000. In the longer term it is going to prevent approximately $three hundred a month. Now the query is, do you wish to force a few preserve heap to save lots of $three hundred a month. When you try to promote your three yr historic automobile that has one hundred,000 miles on it, NOBODY will wish it. If they do, it is going to be a significant cost to pay. three Year historic automobiles with a one hundred,000 miles carry approximately the equal has a eight yr historic one hundred,000 mile automobile.

YES.

Yes yes yes yes YEEEES!

Sixteen year olds definitely shouldn't get anything newer then a 95, and it should be a car that has four nice doors. A newer sports car? Seriously, hun, you'll be in over your head there. Your parents are right and please keep in mind that they are probably saying this because they experienced this themselves. Yes, it will be ridiculously expensive and you're better waiting for something like that.

You could easily spend 3500 a year in insurance or more...no joke.
Find a less expensive car to insure.
