Hey mon...

Um, I don't know if I can help...but I am 16 years old...and dont let everyone scare you about a sports car insurance expenses...I have a muscle car, 1974 Plymouth Duster, and everyone told me that it woud cost $400+ a year to have a high performance vehicle...but honestly...the truth, I only pay $175 dollars a month for the insurance...keep it in mind that it is a historic vehicle...

But I also got a quote for a 2007 mustang, and they said it would only cost 256 dollars a year...so really, it's not outrageous high...depends, cause, well...

I asked the same question and i am only 16...all these adults and "good fellers" who work for those "good insurance places"...kept telling me that insurance would kill me, and what not...

If ya' have a sports car in mind that ya like...call your insurance company that you are under and ask em...I also say go for it...good luck with everything!

A lot. You have three strikes against you to start with.

1. Male
2. Under age 26
3. Sports car

the only one you can change is number 3

It will be more expensive for a sports car of course, but there are a lot of things that will affect the premium.Past drivers history, accident records, area of the country in which you live and make of vehicle will all be taken into consideration.A Ferrari will cost more to insure than a Miata.A guy with a bad driver's record will pay more, also if you live in NYC as opposed to somewhere in Montana.

Male, single, under 25, and depending on where the car will be primarily garaged, will be the main factors of determining insurance cost, along with past driving history. It won't be cheap in any case.
