Not only will you get a ticket, fines, need an SR-22 and possibly get your car impounded, but you parents could also face all of this also. An SR-22 can cause about a $20-$50/ month increase in your insurance and even more for your parents if they have good driving records. If you don't comply with the SR-22 filing, then your license will be suspended or revoked. Then you will be driving on a suspended license, and there goes your rates even more, and possibly jail time. Not Worth IT!

Do you like jail? Most likely, you'll get your license suspended, your vehicle impounded and have to pay a hefty fine. Driving without insurance is irresponsible and selfish. What happens if you hit somebody? I'll tell you - the other driver can sue your parents, and they could lose their home, their cars, all their assets under the right circumstances. All because you chose to drive without insurance.

It depends on what state you live in. Some states will tow your car, cite you and call your parents. Others will only give you a ticket. I haven't heard of anyone going to jail because they didn't have insurance. You might lose your license. Again, it depends on the laws in your community. At 16, your parents can add you to their insurance. They will get a discount if you go through a driver's ed course.

it doesnt matter how old you are, you need insurance and driving without it can lead to major problems.
without insurance your no longer registered, no insurance, no registration, that will leave you with a suspended license, major fines or worse.
please, dont do that, buy insurance, you may not understand the importance at the age 16, but what if you really smash someone and seriously injure them or worse, what will happen then? you will get sued and they will garnish your wages for years and years and years and years, you will never be able to afford insurance again after that.

You receive a violation or license suspension. Depending on your state, they may also require an SR-22 filing (mandated insurance).

You can be arrested, or ticketed for no proof of insurance, loose your license and end up paying a large fine.
