I have an old 1994 Rover Metro and although my driving instructor reckons i should take the test in his car, i feel like i'd rather take the test in my own.

Not only have i had more driving experience in my own car, but i find it a lot more easier to handle and after all, this will be the car that i'll be using if and when i pass. I hardly ever stall the engine in my own car but with my instructors i can stall it three or four times a lesson and compared to the four or five hours a week driving experience i have in my own car, i am only spending a couple of hours in my instructors.

My question is what are the requirements for taking the test in your own car? I know the DSA have a list on their website but i'm concerned about any technicalities. A friend of my brothers was apparantly turned down because of some kind of modification. Also, the handle of my left mirror has snapped off but can still easily be adjusted from the outside. Would this be a problem?

If after you get your car repo'd the finance company finds out that you let your insurance lapse. Will they still let you get your car back?

A deer caused me to crash and lay my motorcycle down on a back road. we had to take these back roads due to a bride being out and under construction for about 6 months now. Is there any way to get the county or state to pay for the damage to my motorcycle since I only had basic liability on my motorcycle.

Hi. Last oct. (going 40 in 25) and I paid it, did traffic school, etc . . . so the ticket would not appear on my dmv record. I was able to keep my cheap insurance.

Now, 11 months later I got another speeding ticket (43 in 30 arghh!). Am I going to be able to do traffic school and keep it off my record because it's less than a year? I'm more concerned with keeping my insurance as cheap as possible than the cost of the fines.

Thanks.

Someone other than myself is paying for my vehicle. Can I still register the vehicle under my name and my insurance?

I guess what I'm asking is; Can a car be registered and insured under one person's name, but it was purchased and financed under another person's?

I was in an auto accident in July, my car had over $6,000 damage on the passenger side. I got my car back with two different color headlights (one chrome, one black). My insurance company and the body shop (in MD) keep blaming one another, I can't get anyone to take responsibility for the mismatched headlights. I need to find someone I can contact to file a complaint since no one will listen to me!

I visit Canada a lot, and love to hire cars from the aiport. I am gettting sick of paying over the odds for comprehensive insurance though. The rental company asked for 100$ for 3 day cover for a Yaris. They also said that the law in Ontario says that I will need to pay for damages to the car if I had an accident even if the other driver was at fault, as everyone pays for his own car. Is that true?

my friend thought his insurance covered him to drive other cars, which it does not. a speeding fine arrived on my doorstep and i put his name on the form with his irish address, stating him as the driver. the west midlands police have contacted him and asked for valid insurance certificate. as he is not able to provide this, so apparently i face 6-8 penalty points and hefty fine for letting him drive without insurance.

is there anyway out of this?

down an incline & hitting the front - I explained how it happened
and the mechanic told my boss, "I find that hard to believe."
Should I demand that it be looked at by a professional
insurance auditor to show I am not a "liar"?

The driver was 15 with a learner's permit. The insurance just went out two weeks ago. We contacted the father of the kid who hit us, and he told us a sob story, and said he didn't know what else to say. This vehicle is how we get our kids to school, and my wife to work. Why should I have insurance if nothing happens to people without it?

My 16 daughter just got licensed, I was calling around for quotes and a Farmers Ins Rep adv me as long as she doesn't have her own car and will only be using mine or my husbands car occasionally she does not have to be named on the policy. She advised me the vehicle was insured so anyone could drive it. I was always told if they lived in your house they have to be named on the policy. I just want to make sure we are covered if the worse should occur. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Just an hour ago, I accidentally lost control of my car in the parking lot and bumped into a car. The headlight on the right popped out and the bumper also popped out like a few inches. There were also some slight scratches. My car was unscathed. I met up with the car owner, a McDonald's employee, and it turned out that she didn't have a license at all. I gave her information from my driver's license and phone number but all she gave me was her name, phone number, and license plate number. I later spoke to a friend and she suggested that it was quite possible that she might have been an illegal immigrant since she needed a friend to help her speak English and was driving without a license. It's also quite possible that the name she gave me isn't her real name. I haven't been able to call up the restaurant but she told me that she's supposed to call me tonight. My question is, is there any danger in giving my driver license information to her?

Also, how much would the damage cost?

The person at fault cannot even pay for the damage done to my car. I had a rental car, but it was taken back because they did not have the money to pay for it. So what is going to happen here. It will cost me a fortune to fix the car. I imagine that my rates are gonna end up through the roof. This isn't fair!. What should I do ?

Will Update as needed.
