It all depends on where you live, especially after the September 11th attacks. Living here in Virginia it was a pain in the a#$ to renew my license and took a few trips to the DMV to straighten everything out but they should send you a letter notifying you that your license is going to expire, and if you have moved address without notifying them you will just need to go in, preferably before it expires to avoid any hassle they may give you over it being expired and therefore not being able to use it as a proof of id. Check the DVM website for Ga and they should list all the possible information you need when you go as well as the projected wait. Good Luck

The last time that I changed addresses, all they asked was where do you live now. I verbally gave them my new address and they changed it while I was getting my license renewed. The only thing I had was my old license with me.
