You MUST make a SORN declaration at once - you have 15 days from the date your disk expired then you will get a fixed penalty fine in the post. In any case, if you dont have a valid tax disk keep it off the public high way or it will be clamped, towed, impounded and crushed - and they will bill you for all that too.

As long as you have not been driving you are oK.

If you have been driving and you were caught without tax and asked to get an MOT then yes, you are in trouble.
