You can use the reminder thingy for car tax that DVLA send you.

or

You can declare sorn online

or

You can telephone DVLA

or

You can write to them to declare it which is what i died after an elderly neighbour died and i did not have log book or any other info relating to the car

Go online, www.direct.gov.uk/taxdisc

Every question you need to ask will have an answer on there for you. If the car has been scrapped you don't need to declare SORN.

you need a V890 form should be able to get one at your local post office. just simply complete the V890 with the details it asks for then send to DVLA Swansea you should then rec'd a letter of notification to confirm that your vehicle is now sorned

Apply to DVLA for a new one - can probably do it on their website. Also be aware that to do a SORN, you need to have it parked offroad totally.
