I have a car with a personal reg on it. I want to sell the number and get the original one back on it. Will I have to pay the registration fee of 80pounds + vat twice to take off and replace? Do I still own the old one? The DVLA website isn't very helpful
Thanks

I'm having trouble getting an appointment to MOT my car at a time when I'm not at work and before it expires on the 28th. I'm sure I've heard you are allowed to drive a car with an expired MOT if you'rem going to get one. Can anyone confirm this?

Thanks

My car was stolen from me and recovered with no damage except for a completely destroyed interior. Everything from the seats, carpet, dash, etc. needed to be replaced by the insurance company. The cost to do this exceeded that of the car so they in turn totaled it. I decided to by the car back and fix it up on my own. Sounded like a great idea at the time. But now 6 months down the road I want a new car and need to sell this one. This car now has a "rebuilt" title due to the insurance company totaling it and I am finding it very hard to sell because no one will even look at it because it says "salvage." Now I do not want to fraud anyone in any shape, way or form and plan on disclosing the cars history to every potential buyer. I just merely want the title to appear clear so people will at least take a look at a car that has been well taken car of, runs great, never been in a crash and get a reasonable amount for it. Note: title was clear before it was stolen.

I am now taking care of the back payments and insurance she never took care of. Both of our names are on the title but she says that she will not sign when I sell the car in order to release the title to the new owner. Given that she was 47 days past due, was late on 4 of 7 payments, and had no insurance on the car since we bought it a year ago is there any way in which I can take her name off the title or bypass the need for her signature? By the way, I am in California and the bank has the lien on the car, thanks to all.

I backed into another car that was parked in my driveway. Am I liable for the damage that was done to the other car even though it happened on my private property?

Ok i was on this road and i was making a 3-point turn. I was in the middle of the turn and this car rides up on me. His lights were in my eyes and everything. He was so far up i couldnt go back for the rest of my turn. So i had to countinue foward. I knicked this guys tire... it was a big truck. He yelled at me to stop, and i did. i pulled over and ran to him. i was so out of it, i apologized a million times. he checked out his car and everything. then he was like what did you hit? and i said the tire. he checked out the tire and said to get the **** out of here. So i did. What will happen now? Like am i ok? No damage was done to his car from what we could see.
He didnt so much as take my name. Is there any way this can come back to me?

What can I do to lower insurance? And what kind of coverage do I need to get? They ask 20/25 or 50/100 and so on. I have no idea of what that means. My quotes have been 4000 and higher for a 6 month period. I am in college. I don't have that kind of money. I live in New York City (if that helps). If anyone can give e any tips, it would be greatly appreciated. The cars I am lookint at are the 2005 nissan altima, 2005 honda accord or civic sedans, and the 2007 toyota camry. thanks

my mother's car broke in a small townm the mechanics said it gonna cost $ 700 to fix it.Final cost turned to be $1300.
I think he was lying since he said it gonna be fixed in 1 day but took him 1 week. also he wanted to charge more if he gonna work on saturday & finally wanted to charge extra $150 if he is to replace a part in one day rather than ordering it & replacing it in 3-4 days.
he is not a memer of AAA or ASA (auto service association) & the Better business bureau may not handle such a case.

I was going 41 in a 25 mph zone and I had my dog in the car. I just got my license about 2 monthes before I got the ticket. My dog was distracting me which made me unable to slow down because I didn't realize I was going so fast. The officer mailed the ticket home and I want to defer this ticket because it's my first. They sent me a court date but also an option of doing a Mitigation Hearing by Mail where I send in my statement in the mail and the judge decides. Should I appear in court or just send a statement? I live in Seattle, Washington.

I'm just wondering if its MANDATORY for me to pay insurance if the car is already insured.... like the people paying it now don't wanna be paying more to put my name on the insurance too obviously. So what happens if I get in an accident with their car ensured by them? (They're related to me if that helps)

I am looking to purchase a new vehicle in the near future and I am unable to afford the high costs for Comprehensive and Collision Insurance of a newer model vehicle at this time. I was hoping that there would be a way that I could only maintain liability until I am able to afford full-coverage.

I went to get the titles to a car that was sold to me, & the guy who sold it to me never put the car in his name. So now I have to go get a BONDED title. How much will that cost? & can this guy get in trouble or can I sue him? The people said that basically what he did was theft. & he signed the car's titles in the wrong spot, & so did the seller before him.

I went to this "ticket clinic" company which charges me 500 dollars to take my case, should I pay them that? or should I just go to court my self.

The ticket was given to me for driving with a tag expired for about a year and not having insurance. What do you guys reccomend ? can I potentially end up paying more if I dont get a lawyer for this ? or does it usually end up being less than what a lawyer charges you for this kind of thing.

I live in MIAMI FLORIDA by the way

I got into a car accident driving my friend's car. She let me borrow it because my car was getting repaired. I was not at fault of the accident, however my friend's car was a total loss (i still feel terrible). My friend got about $6,000 from her insurance. I initially gave my friend $1000 to cover her deductible (which she got back with the $6000). Note: the driver at fault was uninsured. He got cited and that was that. Police report states he was at fault. Dilemma is my friend is asking me to give her an additional $2500 to help her with the down payment for a new car. I am willing to help her for a downpayment but is $2500 alot? I already gave her $1000 which means a total of $3500 I will have to pay my friend. Does this sound reasonable? She is planning to use the $6000, plus my $2500, plus some that she can borrow from mom to total $10,000 for the downpayment. Who puts down that much anyway? But I do understanf that if Ihad not borrowed her car none of this would have happened.
