If your were involved in an accident because of DUI then you may get dropped by insurance. But if you just got pulled over for DUI then yeah your rates will go up once your policy comes up for renewal.. Usally if you do the driving classes you can avoid the increase, but not likely..

I had a DUI and an MIP (minor in possession) but me and my buddies knew the cop real well and he put the wrong date on the ticket we think on purpose, so I fought it and got the DUI thrown out and just paid the fine for the MIP, so at least TRY TO FIGHT IT!!

Uh, yeah! Insurance companies don't give a DUI discount.

It doesn't just go up, it ROCKETS up. Of course, that assumes that your inusrer doesn't cancel your policy as it views you as a bad risk, forcing you into the SR-22 or Facility Association Pool as the insurer of last resort.

Any alcohol related infraction will cause your premium to rise. Also, any alcohol offenses are kept on record for ten yrs, for insurance purposes.
