Insurance & Registration - June 2007

The way I understand it is that I would sign over the title, but then they drive/tow it away without officially transferring ownership. Has anyone had any problems with this? Once they take it are they responsible if anything happens?

My car was rear ended and now the guy who hit me is claiming he has suffered injurys and is suing. The man didn't have insurance at the time and he hit me from behind (Which would mean that it's not my fault)...what do i do??
The man was never citied for hitting me because when the accident happened it was in the middle of traffic and we both had to move our cars out of the way...does this mean something???

I have a perfect credit record and no felonies, but driving has been my damnation. I have several speeding tickets (20 over the limit.. in VA these are misdemeanors), went to jail for 2 days for (I have only 1, 3 years ago) a DUI, and went to jail for 2 days for speeding constantly (2 months ago) I currently have a restricted driver's license and will be on probation (from VA's DMV due to accumulated points) starting June, although my restricted's license will be ok after September, but my driver's license probation will end in Dec. 2007. Everything else in my life is perfect. Will this affect my getting a job? Will this appear on my background check (they are asking my for my driver's license number)?

the insurance of the driver who caused the accident is not doing anything to repair my friends damage car and its been a month since the accident.also.
now, my friends insurance is asking him to pay $500 for them to fix his car..how is that possible when he has full coverage. can someone help me clear this out... isn't the insurance of the other person supposed to pay the damage?

here is the situation: the wreck was my fault. i have insurance. the other driver was injured, he bang his head on the dashboard which resulted in a concusion, however... he was not wearing a seatbelt.. i know cuz i rushed to help him and noticed this... now, i want to know if i am still obligated to pay for his injury if it was completely avoidable if he would have just worn his seatbelt.

I was just involved in a hit and run. I was merging into the Holland Tunnel, and a Van drove up on the side of my car, ripped my drivers side mirror off, scratched my car horriably, and just kept on driving!! This was not my fault, as I was in the lane first, he merged into my lane, over the solid line!! I have not done anything yet along the lines of reporting this, as I just got home from work. When we got out of the tunnel, they pulled over and flagged me down. The roads were very busy, and we didnt call the police. They said to me "are you high? You look like you are high". I just got out of working a 14 hour shift, so I look weathered. How dare they say that to me!! Now, I live in NJ, and have Geico Insurance, $500 deductiable, full coverage. I have the color of the van, and the license plate #. What should I do. I dont know if its worth it to report it to my insurance co. but I dont want to report it if its going to go to my insurance co. What should I do?

I recently had a deer hit my car and am going to have to pay a $500 deductible. My grandpa told my parents that when he hit a deer, New York State paid for all repairs including the deductible because deer are considered to be property of the state. His body shop took care of all the details. Does anyone know is this is still true or who I can contact to find out more information?

hi. i am 18 yrs old. i have my driving permit, but not my licence yet. however, i drive all the time, and i have never been pulled over or arrested for anything by a cop. my question is: if i do get pulled over by a cop, will he/she arrest me and take away my car since i don't have a drivers licence???

what will the consequences be for me???

Last week there was a man in the paper that had been stuck infront of a mack truck. His wheelchair had become stuck to the front of a mack truck and was pushed down the highway. I have been looking for the article but haven't been able to find it. I was wondering if any one else had heard about it and would possibly know the link. I live in the Pennsylvania area.
