I sent in my resignation because I was mad about an incident that happened to me. I had my pants and underwear pulled down to my ankles in front of 4 other employees by a long-time casual employee and the only disapline that was given to him was 3 days suspension (To a casual employee that is not even skeduled!?!) and an appology to me. I was so humilliated that i felt i couldn't show my face in the office. I sent in my resignation two weeks ago and tomorrow is my last day but I now want to withdraw my resignation. Are they obligated to allow me to keep my job if I withdraw it? Also is there a law suit there if they don;t allow me to withdraw?

Left my previous employer several months ago. Since I left, 6 other people have left the company. However, I didn't recruit any of them. There was something on the paper of my exit interview that states that I can't recruit anyone for 2 years. Now I'm being sue, is my current employer obligated to defend me under labor code 2802? Thanks!

Why do people think that the more money that you make, the happier you will be? I don't understand this.....people make money so they can be happy, right? But if you're already happy, then making a lot of money isn't really that important is it? My mom always tells me that "things will all come together" once I get a high paying job, but I'm not so sure. I don't think dollar bills can cure a broken heart, or a hopeless feeling....can they? I mean, sure you will be able to buy more things, but it's the core of the person that counts, right?

These companies are always trying to sell you a trial, even though when the survey starts they lie by saying no purchase necessary. This is giving online surveys a bad name. I have been trying to start doing surveys, but I am getting tired of being lied to.The companies that want the surveys are getting ripped off by these online survey distributers. People like me just want to fill out a simple survey for a simple price, because all of this other stuff in between is just wasting our time. Time is money!! If you can send them to me it would help both parties involved, I have just about got to the point that I am tired of wasting my time for nothing.

No matter how well someone does or how poorly, a 3% is all that is given. No merits, no bonuses. I would like to draft a proposal to them convincing the board to invest more in their employees and reduce costs in hiring. Big turn over at this non-profit. Any websites or advice would be welcome. I need a plan.

I work a telecommunications company and I deal with about 100 techs everyday that work out in the field. There is one inparticular that is always nasty and short with people, not just me. But today he got really nasty with me and I told him to please not take a tone with me. The tech got snotty and asked for my boss(who isnt in) but then asked for my immediate supervisor. She then called me into her office and I explained to her my side of the story. But my question is what do I do? Defend myself against someone that has been with the company longer and get labeled a *****? or simply apologize to him and make things better?

I was 5 minutes and 29 seconds late to work yesterday. The office manager, who was 1) out of the office and 2) an hour late without calling in just a couple of days before, had called the office to find out who all was there. Myself and another employee were not yet there when she called and she had the receptionist issue as a verbal warning. She then emailed us one hour later and told us that when we responded to her email, we could then clock in. So, she didn't let us clock in until an hour later even though we were there during that whole time. Someone told me that her actions were illegal because we were there working, but not getting paid for it. Is this true and where can I find that in writing?

I became a single father due to divorce about 5 years ago. I am the custodial parent. During this time I have been struggling to change my career to better suit the needs of my son. I've come to the point now where I believe I need the assistance of an organization to help me find a new career (not just a new job) that is a good fit for my family. Thanks in advance for any and all help!

so say there is a career you really want to pursue, but you have personality flaws such as time-management issues, problems working under pressure, and a thin skin, which would prevent you from being very good at it. should you just find another career that is easier but less interesting, or should you try to overcome your flaws and keep working even though its really hard and you know you will never be that great at it?

I went on a interview. On my way in the receptionist greeted me warmly and told me not to be nervous that the interviewer ( VP of the dept.) was harmless. The interview began well with some light general conversation about my week. They asked many questions but none of them seemed to be doubting of my experience. They verbally acknowledged alot of my answers as " making alot of sense" and "excellent". They asked me when i could start at the end but we didn't talk about the salary and benefits (salary was however left on my voicemail prior to the interview.)

At the end, I made the move to shake everyone's hands (something they seemed to forget in our general conversation on the way out) and the VP walked me out and told me that there were just two more interviews. She handed me her card and told me if I had any questions, to email or call and they should decide by wednesday afternoon. Was this a good interview? If so, why?

Has anyone had any experience with filling out online survey forms? I would like to know if someone has been able to make consistent and decent money doing this?

I have seen adverts online saying that on can make from $75 to $250 U.S. dollars per survey even in the U.K. However, the only online surveys that I seem to find for the U.K. and Europe have only offerred $1 to $2 per completed survey. This would be a joke and a complete waste of time.

If anyone has any experience in this area or advice, I would really appreciate it. It would be a big help for someone confined to home if anyone could recommend a dependable online survey site for those living in the U.K. and Europe. I am just trying to think of a way to make extra income for myself without being a burden on others.

Many thanks!

Hi All,
I need your help.As Iam in a mess.
Ia m a BTECH in CS with a 3.5+ EXP
I was working with an IT company (not too big) on the 24x7 Linux support. This was a profile that I didnt like as it didn't fit into my frame of profile. So, after working for 6 mnths ,recently when I got an offer from a big Indian IT MNC, with a hike of aroung 50% in the CTC, I joined the new company.

Here, now after one week now, my Proj. Mgr is asking me to deploy me on a project on the same profile as I was in my prev. company, for which I refused. But , he insisted me for it and has asked my consent on coming Monday.
This was not told during the interview even.Further more , I can find people on the same rank as Iam, sitting ,waiting for some project for more than 8-9 months.
I cant understand that y the PM wants me and not those guys who joined well b4 me and r sitting idle.
Further, I am scared that , its a new job for me and what will be the effect , If I refuse Pls sugg. how 2 handle this.

thanks for quick replys, i didnt explain it properly, point 1 ive been at home being mum for the past 6yrs, point 2, i did ask questions (lots ) point 3 the company is a major uk company, who in my opion should of had a seperate trainning suite not plonk you in the middle of it and say here we go , i know exactally what sort of job i want ive been working on my needs as me and sorting out child care so that my children didnt stop me from working and i have been planning going back to work for a year so that my part was all tidy so that they had my total commitment all i ask is that they are ready at their end, my brain was totally in gear but whats the piont of putting you with two different people in less than an hour each has their own way of shortcuts and you as the new person need the real way not different ways to take on board plus i only saw the person who took me on from a distance so there was so special treatment which is great as feeling special would be a downfall.
