I became a single father due to divorce about 5 years ago. I am the custodial parent. During this time I have been struggling to change my career to better suit the needs of my son. I've come to the point now where I believe I need the assistance of an organization to help me find a new career (not just a new job) that is a good fit for my family. Thanks in advance for any and all help!

Try your local Human Services office. They have alot of programs for job training. You don't have to be getting any benefits to qualify either. I am a single mom of 4 and I also am about to go to job training, I live in Michigan and we have a program here called Michigan Works. Not only will they provide training they will help you get anything you need for your new job like tools, uniforms etc. So just start with that office and they will be able to direct you to where you need to go. Good Luck!!!
