Reciently becoming manager of a medium sized kitchen, of course I have to occasionally fire people. I've done it a couple of times, but I feel nervous, dont know how to say it. Sometimes people just dont work out, how do I tell them something they should recognize anyway?

I know this is kind of broad, but I recently went to universal studios,FL and seen the animal planet show. Now I have always have had the love and passion for animals.Once I saw the show it just seemed so interesting to me and looked really fun. I'm sure that it would take alot of hard work and long schooling but I was just wondering where to start as far as what field or what kinda credentials a person who hosts that show would have.thanks to all for the intrest.

Ok, I'm 22, in NYC. I've been writing since I was little. I have a batch of different scripts, different genres, which i wrote at 16 and I've been revising them since then. I use an online writing workshop www.zoetrope.com where other writers reciprocate each others' work.

It's been real helpful and now one of my scripts, a low budget/high concept horror pic is in a final draft. I've been showcasing it since January. Every two weeks, I've been writing out query letters to 10 production companies and 10 agencies. I call them two months after I write to them to see if they looked or not. Either way, whether over the phone or through mail, its always "We can't accept unsolicited scripts." I've been playing this so called "traditional route" as smart as I could but my list of agents/companies to contact is getting smaller and I feel like I'm running out of options.

I know many of the big shots out there didn't go to film school and they made it. Stephen King even said most of the stuff you learn in film school he learned the first two weeks or so when trying to make his first film (I know it wasnt that great, yeah, but still though). I've been hearing the only beneficial thing about film school is that its like a pool for potential contacts and networking, that's about it. There's no guarantee of work when you leave, no so-called "job-placement" so to speak.

I'm thinking, since I'm running out of options and I know for a fact that film schools will LET you use their equipment and team up with crew/cast students, should I just go to film school and make the damn movie myself? I mean its not like Die Hard or something huge, its a low budget horror pic that can be filmed completely in the subway system. I would basically be doing most of this for free if that's the case.

So I'm wondering should I go to film school and do this or should I just take up a conventional degree in school (for financial security) and keep trying other ways to get in the film biz?

I've seen sources that say freshly minted MBAs make between 90-100k and after a 3-5 years they average 150-200k. Is that really true?

I know it depends on which MBA school you go to, but those average figures (found on CNN.com) seem pretty gaudy to me.

..my daughter has a severe dermatological condition meaning that I have to care for her skin day/night. She is 2 and half at present and receives Disability Living Allowance at the higher rate which, on the basis of her GP's recommendation was recently extended to 2011.

In February as is a requirement for all lone parents who are not in work (or should I say PAID work - as I have never worked so hard in my life!) I attended a lone parent meeting. I found the woman to be pleasant enough but there was one incident that has lingered with me ever since.

My daughter's father is not on her birth certificate and has not been traced the CSA. Quite simply I do not know where he is and due to his actions when I was pregnant - abhorrent to say the least I have no desire to contact him now. He wanted nothing to do with my daughter and so I raise her as best I can alone.

Anyway, unlike the interview in 2006 - the lone parent advisor brought him up in the interview and when I said he

im 18 and having a hard time deciding what i want to do with my life. i am rather ecclectic, so its difficult to decide what subject to study. i am currently a biology major, but not sure i really want to do anything in the medical field. i like looking up and reading info on studies by other ppl. i like learning about things and compiling information from different sources. i do not like personally applying such info in lab though. i would not want to be a professor who has to be working on some sort of experiment on the side. i feel i have a talent for organizing and putting things together and learning the details about things so i can rattle them off. i really cant handle lab work though. it causes me stress and anxiety. if i remain in science or move to any other type of major, what kind of jobs are there where i could apply the skills that i have?

I left my job 7 months ago, but still currently work in the same geography as the last job, calling on the same customers. From time to time, I send "hello" e-mails and text messages to my former boss to keep communication lines open. Besides, I know that I left in good terms, although I also know that she never really knew the real reasons that made me leave. I left not because of her, but for other reasons. I thought that she and I had a good boss-employee relationship, but I feel that she took my resignation as some kind of betrayal. Initially, she used to answer the e-mails and text messages. Lately, I get no response. I suspect that she wants me to leave her alone and that she would like for each of us to move on. However, I see no reason why we can't remain friends. Your thoughts, please.
