My husband passed the postal exam and was told that his three requests of locations had been noted. He doesn't know how to follow up - he thinks perhaps they will just call when there is an opening in one of his preferred locations but is there another application process or some way to find out what is going on?

I live in Cleveland and there are no jobs, so I am thinking of relocating to a place with a better job market. My boyfriend is an Art teacher, and I am not looking for anything in particular, an office job would be fine with me, just something to pay the student loans back for right now.

I work for a community agency who helps the needy. The community voluntarily provides our clients this time of year wraped gifts and gift cards to make their holiday happier. I was able to take get my hand on some gift cards and I know it is wrong, but I took them for things that I can afford to personally purchase. But the reason it feels so good that I took the gift cards is that I feel my employer has treated me very unfairly for awhile and it feels so good to get one over on them. It is unlikely that I will get caught since gift cards are like cash and there is no record on who cashes them in. How do others feel about my deed?

I think it may be that they tend to be under less pressure than private companies to generate revenues to stay in business. It's more slow paced in government sector, and sometimes it gets tearfully boring, but that may just be my experience.

I work in local government, and since being employed my duties have changed significantly and are of a higher level and I feel that I am justified in asking to have my job re-graded from level 2 to 3.

There is currently a hiring freeze due to budget cuts throughout the department, but would this be an appropriate reason for my employers to refuse my re-grading request?

I have also been asked to undertake a major project that is currently done by a higher graded individual. Should I wait until I am doing the work, to ask for a re-grading, or ask prior to starting the work?

Does anyone have any relevant experience to share that can assist me?

I currently work for a resteraunt/bar/grill/club in Florida and am thinking about starting a non-profit program. Besides getting backing from the establishment I wish to do it with, whats the best way to start it up? Start by joining with other established organizations and slowly build? Try to create a new program? Etc. I am thinking about doing something with alcohol, but am open to any ideas.
