A President and CEO of a company emailed me that he was impressed with my resume and asked me to come in for interview. So I did. He told m that out of around 100s of resume, my resume was one that attracted them. During the interview, he asked me, How is my computer skills. I said I am okay, good enough. He asked me what is my salary level desired. I told him whatever you posted on the website. That was just it. Then they asked me if I have any question. I told them not really and I told them that I would ask question as I work for them. If they liked my resume but they didnt ask too much question during the interview, will I mostly like to be hired? if you are boss what do you think? Any interview experiences?

I am more than halfway through college pursuing a degree in fine arts, however, I have been working as a clerk at a library for over 4 years and I like it. In order to get health benefits and such, I think I have to take the civil service exam right? Should I take it now? Because I heard that it's only given every few years (for clerk). Is it silly to take it if I am not necessarily looking for a job right now? I just want to be prepared once I graduate because I lose my health insurance.

I got an interview coming up for a county government IT job (not contractor position) on the U.S. East coast. What kind of competition should I expect? Will they more than likely do two rounds of interviews? Any advice?

I would write a novel in relation to the organization's cause, and have x amount of book sales go to the organization. Or, I would contact a shopping mall and ask if they are willing to participate in a "Store Takeover Day." Volunteering employees of the organization would take over a store of their choice for the original owner, and whatever money is made from the store in the course of the day goes to the organization. (Of course, we'd have people put their money in "charity jars" we would have provided, in place of a cash register.

Would these sound like good ideas to you? Also, I'm curious to know what you would come up with. Thanks.

We are a nonprofit that would like to share photos with our grantees in the form of slideshows. Is there a less "public" avenue on Flickr we could use?

I have been looking for a change of work environments for the past couple of years. I have sent out resumes applying for quite a few positions none of whom I have received an interview from. I have 12 years experience in municipal government in a very large city and I cannot understand what I need to do to spark interest in my resume. It has all the key words and ideas that I think would pertain to such a job. Everyone in the field tells me that there are many people retiring from city manager work and very few young people coming in, so their are more positions than people to fill them. Why can't I seem to find one of those positions? Can anyone offer me some advice?

not going to get adopted. My plan is to acquire property, build two houses, one for girls and the other for boys, and take in the children that show an interest in education. I want to give those children an opportunity to have stability, go to school, participate in extra-curriculum activities, focus on a career goal and after graduation they can attend college. Are there any good websites or books that is helpful in showing me how to go about this?

I'm currently working on my MPA because I've always wanted to work in government. Now I'm rethinking it due to the problems in the state I live in and I would like to know if there are any other industries that might like to see these letters on my resume.

Where can I find this kind of information? Would they look at who filled out the paperwork (employment) before the other or the sign in time on the first day of work?

How would you go about setting up a non-for-profit foundation?
We are planning to start doing some fundraisers to help pay for the attorney fees for my adoption of my stepson. We want to do things the right way and if possible to make donations/ contributions from the fundraisers tax deductible for the contributors. Would becoming a non-profit be the best way to go?
