I just started working with a fundraising company that was appointed by an important veterans organization to help raise funds for the troops returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. The executive director is amazing, she knows so many people and is inspiring.

My problem is that I can't find anyone to get on board and I don't get paid unless I raise funds. I have contacted all kinds of organizations across the countries to no avail. This is a nationwide initiative and I'm losing time and money.

The troops keep me going because they are so brave and selfless. I attended a benefit for disabled troops 10 days ago and I finally saw a product of what I could achived with all the time I spend trying to find sponsors. One day I will have my own fundraiser.

But until then, I'm running out of money and I need some good suggestions of organizations or individuals that will sponsor an event. Your troops will be greatful.

I am not talking about politics. I am talking about government agencies. I guess I am also wondering if you know of any good government jobs.
Is math the best degree to have? A type of engineering? Computer Science?
Thanks for your input!

I worked within the civil service both full time and as a temp for many years and was fully security cleared. I am now at university and would love to go back to the civil service - if possible within the prison sector but I have been diagnosed with Bipolar. Will this affect my chances?

I passed all the admin tests and had advanced pay for typing/audio skills when I was working before.

ok, so I have 1 misdeamenor on my record that I never was convicted of.I was in jail overnight, got bailed out a couple of weeks later I simply signed a paper, paid a $100 court fine and never heard about it again(this happened may of 2004). Ive had probably 5 different jobs since then and I recently got fired from my latest job after working there a month because I failed to disclose this information, but since I was never convicted in court for this Ive never put this on a job application. should I start putting this incident on my applications?

We are having a hard time as anyone else maybe also and are running out of time and money to pay on some of our utillitys/rent payment at the moment. we have 3 small children and need to keep everything on for them,if it was just us then it would be different. We are getting some aid from the Gov. But it is not cash assistance just for food, Are there any sites I can go to that I can sign up for a loan? That way we can pay it back in installments and dont have to worry about an interest rate..

I hate the boring day jobs, i want something exciting somewhere. The military i thought about but decided against so that is not an option. I live in a dead city with 26 thousand people. Anyone know of some city/place where they have exciting jobs that will train? Is there any cool jobs out there?? maybe even a job that they give you a place to stay? I know they have jobs in alaska where you live on the ship or in this factory setting while you work 16 hour days. I wouldnt even know where to start to get a job like that, i check oregon employment department but came up with nothing. any ideas? thanks in advance
