If you want to work in the courthouse, why not apply to work in the court clerk's office? They are civil service unionized jobs. You may need some extra training (like paralegal training), but the pay will probably be better than the concession stand and you have the opportunity for promotions.

Your best place to look would be the official state website, they will have listing for current employment, and links to other state and city sites that also list employment links. You'll probably want to research the court system links first.

If you live so close to the courthouse, however, why not go over and ask if where you can apply? If you find out the name of the HR manager for the location, you can apply directly.
