That depends on where you rent (in the US). In most instances, you pay for all utilities separately. However, sometimes certain utilities are included, like water or electric. Sometimes, nothing is included. Like, let's say you're renting the attic apartment at someone's home. It's doubtful that they have different systems for that space, so the owner might split the utilities with you. Every space is different so you just need to ask. FYI: You may have to also put down deposits on some services, so brace yourself for that cost. Good luck!

It varies from place to place. You should ask the landlord before you sign the lease what's not included and what they think it will cost.
Sometimes in the advertising for apartments it says "utilities included."
Gas, water, and electricity are usually included in the rent. Cable, and phone are not.

Depends on where you rent. In my current apartment, I pay for all utilities. But, in the past, I have had some utilities included. But, that is becoming a thing of the past due to rapidly changing utility costs.

Easy! just read the fine print on your rental agreement. Your rent includes whatever is listed on the contract. Everything else you have to pay separately.

For me it's all included, it really depends on the unit you live in, the issue being whether or not their systems can determine HOW MUCH electricity YOU use as opposed other tenants, or water or whatever. Older places sometimes can't, so they can't charge you individually, newer places can.

Usually, the lessee/tenant shoulders the bills for electric, water, tv cable, telephone, minor repairs.
The lessor is responsible for the major repairs.

it may be listed interior the advert that utilities are blanketed. Landlord will pay for water and you pay for gas, electrical energy, telephone, etc. The utility bill is frequently on your call and you open the account. comparable is going for telephone and rubbish.

It depends upon where you are renting from. There is no universal protocol pertaining to which utilities renters will pay.
