I want to get this going as soon as possible. Even though that probably means having a parent signing the papers since I'm a minor. However, if you are a lawyer, business person, or anyone with knowledge on how to get started please write an answer. Thank you so much! You are helping me to help many others including children. If you don't have any knowledge in this area but know someone who might please tell or show them this question and ask them to answer it. Thank you for your time. Sincerely,
founder girl

HR manager called and asked for 2 professional references. So i emailed those to her right away. The hiring managers told me they were probably going to decide today. I havent heard from them, and I know they havent called my references yet since I still keep in touch with them. What is up with this? I thought it was a good sign they called for my references after I know they interviewed everyone. Why would they bother otherwise? But now I am discouraged because I haven't heard anything and they haven't even called my references yet. Anyone have any insight?

I have a college degree with a background in journalism, nonprofit advocacy work and customer service. I have been downsized from nonprofit in 2005 and was ill-matched for a payroll position in a corporate environment that overstressed me, so I resigned for my health. I am not ill, very independent and have a lot of qualifications, but realize that I may have to resort to entry level work to get my foot in the door. I'm very willing to do that. I've consulted professionals to polish my resume, have taken continuing education classes in Spanish and grant writing, and seek the consultation of rehabilitation services counselors, career counselors and staffing agencies. Still, I'm having trouble finding work beyond part-time at the local movie theater. I really want to keep my experience professional and my salary gainful beyond minimum wage. I've posted my resume on several job boards and continue to look every few days, if not daily, for work. What now?

My organization (where I am pretty much the most senior staffer) is going through an Executive Transition after a very difficult couple of years. I was often at odds with my former boss, though he always respected me, and virtually NO ONE he worked with was happy with him. So it's been an emotional ride and I think my NGO has a chance for new possibilities and I want it to go well. How do I make sure that things start out well with the new boss?

I'm trying to find out what basic services are provided by non-profit organizations. I know they all have their specific field, but there is a structure of sorts that all non profits will go through. I'm looking for a list of basic (and some not so basic) services they render, as well as a list of information detailing what the organization does through out the year. ie, look for sponsors 20% of the time, give away money or services 30% of the time, etc. Best answer will go to the person who is descriptive, detailed, knowlegable, and meets the requirements of the question. Thank you.

I'm interested in serving on non-profit boards. I have a great deal of volunteer experience, but I just started working full-time. I have a post-graduate degree. It's a great way to use the skills I have while networking and gaining new experience. The organizations I volunteer for already are... bureaucratic and their board members are all significantly older with more experience and major donors. They include health and advocacy groups. I know they value my time and effort, but they've brushed off my inquiries.

How do I go about achieving this goal?

Hi, I had a job interview with the NIH a couple of weeks ago. The position is a supportive staff for a program director. The interview went pretty well and the people all seemed very nice. I wonder if any of you has any experience working there, and if so, how do you feel about it? How is the potential for promotion/ advancement if you're not a PhD?

I work for a non for profit orgnaization and we have just moved offices. We are looking for posters and framed pictures to put up in our office but we don't know where to look. Our organziation is a human service network, assisting children, families and seniors in need and we would like stuff that represents that.

I would be representing a contituency of a npo
membership -service arts org. I have had the position before, am not sure i should repeat. Need to determine my own personal goals and see if they mesh with this. Not sure if it is worth my while professionally or personally. Looking to reestablish /establish myself , in general, though perhaps not in this field.
What are reasonable criteria to consider before accepting this....?

If I were interested in doing this, how would I go about it? I would like to educate/prevent the disease. I have my BA in public relations and have several other friends who are interested in helping me get this off the ground. I have a few questions though... Do grants pay for peoples salary? If so, whats a reasonable amount? Do grants pay the lease on property for non-profits? Where can I go for more info on grants? Must they be renewed yearly? Any other helpful information? I just read that 1 in 5 college students are infected with HIV and this is alarming... I want to help...

Someone suggested me to volunteer to gain experience i am lacking. I was wondering if i volunteer at the local hospital, would i have any chance of getting some kind of a job later on, at the same place? Any thoughts on this?
