My son went to job cops. He shared a room with 3 other kids, learned to get along with them and is still friends with some of them. In the first few weeks there, job corps assessed what he wants and needs to do and he took general office management on campus before going to an IT school. He had the option after the first 2 weeks to come home on weekends or stay on campus. They provided everyone who stayd on campus with some entertainment and outings. Job corps has rules and regulations you have to follow but they are all designed to help so many kids to get along and stay on track. You get spending money every week and get paid for things you finish, they even help you find a job afterwards and keep track of you for quite some time to see how you are doing. It took a little bit of adjustment for my son but it was a good experience for him, He started job corps as a kid without directions and came back a young man who had self esteem and knew what he was capable of doing. You can always give job corps a call and ask questions, they are happy to give you an overview and answer your questions.

Two summers ago, my son went to Community College through Job Corps. He had to attend school at the sight before going to college.
He had to be there by 8 every morning for class.
He had to wear dress shoes, a collar shirt and kakies.
He didn`t stay on campus because we lived
only 1/2 hr away by car and I drove him every day and picked him up after classes
were over.
It is a government facility so things are done kinda slow. You are not to be slow, but the people working there are allowed to be.
Anyway, after classes were over, he had a week off before starting Community College.
Job Corp paid for his classes, his books, gave him a bus pass to get to class and paid him a stipend for going. The longer he went, the more his stipend increased. They gave him a voucher to buy clothes and shoes.
After the two years were up, (that is how long community college is for) they gave him a lump sum payment of almost 2 thousand dollars and a little help in finding a job.
While he was attending college
he had to go to the job corp campus each Friday to get his pay and bus pass and to sign in.
After a while it was every two weeks.
If you didn`t sign in, you were considered
A.W.O.L and when you did finally get there to sign in, you were charged $5.00 for being late.
I do not think he would have liked staying at the Job Corp campus, it seemed the other students were hardened criminals or had been in juvie or just had bad attitudes toward people not their close friends. There were clicks.
But by staying there, you had rules to follow otherwise you would be kicked out.
At least that is what they told me.

My son was glad Job Corp paid for his first two years of college.
