My husband passed the postal exam and was told that his three requests of locations had been noted. He doesn't know how to follow up - he thinks perhaps they will just call when there is an opening in one of his preferred locations but is there another application process or some way to find out what is going on?

Now you wait until his name comes to the top of the list.. It can take a long time - my nephew passed the exam and it was well over a year before he got called, but now he's working for USPS and very happy.

they give you on call jobs for a little while, while you wait for an opening.

I was going to take the test too, but walked out when they said, it takes along time before you get a full time job

Ask the postmaster at your local office, or inquire with the postal delivery person who delivers YOUR mail. :) Those guys have been through it already and know the routine. Good Luck!

Depends on where you live It took them almost a yr to call me back which test did u take if you took the rural side test then it may take a while but if it was a city test then it may be quicker just depends but I would call your local office and try to get hired as a trc which will get u in the door if they are hiring for that. trc is temporary rural carrier which they usually hire around the holidays for extra help good luck
