Oh my. There are a ton of careers in non-profits. Think about what you like to do and are good at. If you're good at science, then perhaps you could work in health services. If you enjoy educational activities, perhaps you could work in a non-profits Education Dept to help set up meetings or seminars.

When people think of a non-profit, they tend to think of churches, social service organizations, and fundraising organizations; however, there are also professional organizations which, IMO, have a lot more depth. These types of non-profits tend to have Membership, Education, Finance & Accounting, Executive, Administrative, Publications, Health Services, Public Policy, Communications or PR, Tech, International Affairs, Marketing, Human Resources, and Fundraising departments. There's a wealth of opportunities for you and all of these depts tend to have positions from an administrative assistant up to senior directors. You seem to be interested in management positions, but just know that you'd need to work your way up to those positions and it would probably take 3-5 years. You'd probably start out as a program assistant (health services, education, membership, HR) or as a junior or staff accountant (finance & accounting) or as a recruiter (HR).

Do an internet search for them, or apply for a job at the Salvation Army, or for a church that is hiring for that.
