Social work certainly has more flexibility in terms of the type of work (clinical, policy, community organizing, etc.), the types of populations, the types of agencies. Nursing is much more limited.

Nursing is certainly more in demand - there is a current nursing shortage and so nurses can often get jobs just about anywhere.

Both jobs are very demanding and high stress. Before making a decision, perhaps you should shadow someone at each position to see which one is right for you.

Social workers have more flexibilty... Nursing in demand...
Social workers get paid ok.... Nursing pays very good...
