I work for a community agency who helps the needy. The community voluntarily provides our clients this time of year wraped gifts and gift cards to make their holiday happier. I was able to take get my hand on some gift cards and I know it is wrong, but I took them for things that I can afford to personally purchase. But the reason it feels so good that I took the gift cards is that I feel my employer has treated me very unfairly for awhile and it feels so good to get one over on them. It is unlikely that I will get caught since gift cards are like cash and there is no record on who cashes them in. How do others feel about my deed?

You didn't steal from the organization, you stole from needy families at Christmas. Just remember, what goes around, comes around. While you claim it is unlikely that you will get caught, I hope you don't mind if I hope really really hard that you do get caught. Maybe someone will check up on the needly famliies and find out they never got their giftcard, or the cards were marked in some way so that the purchases can be tracked for the benefit of the donor company. My fingers are crossed that this will come back and bite you where it hurts the most.

p.s. There is a good chance that this didn't happen, and you are just baiting the answers community to see how much outrage you can stir up. Good job. But that is preferable to your actually stealing from the poor, so I am hoping that it's true.

You say, "The community voluntarily provides our clients this time of year wraped gifts and gift cards to make their holiday happier." So basically, people like me gave money and you stole it to buy crap that you can't afford. Instead of buying presents for my kids, I gave to those less fortunate and your greedy, selfish a%s ended up with my money. I feel sorry for the people in your community that you stole from.

Give the money back. If you've already spent it, take the stuff you bought to the nearest shelter. You can still make this mistake right.

Happy new year.

Aren't the cards for the needy clients, cause if so you didn't put one over on your employer you put one over on someone who really needed the gift card - nothing good about that at all.

Stealing is stealing, no matter how much you rationalize it.

You are a thief, plain & simple.

If you are really unhappy with the way your employer treats you, confront him/her, or quit. But do not take it out on the organization by stealing from it. Worse, you are stealing from a charity; that's like stealing from the poor.

Do the right thing. You know what it is.

Just consider this - who got hurt - your employer? or some needy family?

You surely aren't expecting anyone to condone your behavior.
